Didn't get a chance to play last night...so the co-op, can you actually progress through the story that way? Or just play missions that have already been unlocked by one person?

You progress. Last night my buddy started ahead of me, and when I connected, it let me know I would be playing off his save file, which was kinda cool. Vice Versa depending on who sets up the game.

Thanks. But does that mean if I join a game started by somebody else, the progress we make won't be saved on my end?

Wait - just re-read your other post. Seems strange that you can take on someone else's save file then. So what about when someone gets the game, hops into a long timer's game and ends up starting a solo play but is at the end of the game already. Sounds lame. |

Not on this game. SR 2 doesn't support trophies.

Just found another thing here that I've always wished the GTA series would implement. I found a newspaper icon in one of my safehouses that allows me to replay any mission I've completed, just for fun. I've always been ticked this wasn't offered in GTA, because some of the missions would be a blast to just play through for the hell of it.
I'm finding the side activities to be a lot of fun. Fuzz is fantastic. I have had a problem, possibly a glitch, with Heli Assault. I can't remember which location, but it's on level 2 - where you're protecting a van while it makes stops. Well, I defended the damn van for about ten minutes and it never moved from 0/4 stops. It just sat there stopped in front of some building. I finally gave up and tried the mission again and it did the same thing the second time. The enemies keep spawning but it makes no progress. Is there something else I'm supposed to be doing here? |

It says there may be a patch at a later date, but I doubt they already added it. |
I was playing last night and on a mission, one of the homies changed the station and was like "This sucks." He changed it to the Classical station. My character said "Hey, I was listening to that" and changed it back. They went on for another minute or so arguing about it
Oh and I find it hillarious how Pierce is always getting stepped on and left behind  |
There's a secret mission that is pretty cool. If you go to the police station in Saints Row. Go to the 4th floor and listen to all 3 of the wiretaps then get the file on Julius in one of the office. You'll get a call from Dex to meet him at the old church.
Make sure you load up on ammo and health. Keith David's voice is awesome. |
I guess maybe I was wrong about the trophies on the PS3. I could have sworn that I had earned a trophy for something I did in the game. Hopefully they will implement them in the near future. It isn't a dealbreaker for me anyways as the game is really fun.

This game is fantastic. IMO it blows GTA out of the water. I'm having an absolute blast playing the mini-games; especially Insurance Fraud. I'm playing on the easiest difficulty level simply because my gaming time is limited -- but it's just a blast to play. My only wish is that you could "warp" to your desired position -- a la calling a cab in GTA.

Fight Clubs get rough. Finally beat one of the locations.
|
I wasn't planning on getting this, since I only mildly enjoyed SR1, but after all the good reviews and even better word-of-mouth, I'm IN...
|
Anyone notice all the "Pride & Glory" ads everywhere? I really like that. It makes the world so much more real when there are real advertisements.
|
I missed those, what are they and where?
I was laughing at the names of some of the vehicles in the game Not sure if they were the same names in the first game but I caught the following: The Mail trucks are called Newmans (Seinfeld reference) One of the jets is called Snipes 57 (Passenger 57 reference) The Ford Bronco type car is called Nordberg (Naked Gun/OJ reference) I am sure there are more, I just haven't seen them yet. |
The ads are pretty standard to the same ads you've probably seen on websites. I've seen them on a few different signs and billboards.
The vehicle references are great. Another one I noticed is that the golf cart is called "Knoxville" |

I never heard of it

I'm nearly done beating this game. It's kinda sad actually.
|
I had a blast doing the insurance fraud missions last night.
Damn, those escort missions are freakin' HARD. = J |
I am enjoying this game, some of the activities are alot of fun. I really liked Fuzz. I can't seem to figure out how to gamble though. I went to the casino that was in the Rec center, but it wouldn't let me do anything. I remember being in a Casino for one of the missions, but I can't find it now. Do I need to go there to gamble?
|
in the nightclubs there is poker machines.
|
Hmm I went to Back Trax, and Cocks and didn't see any machine. Is it only certain clubs?
|
I think you can only gamble at Poseidan's Palace. It's in the Marina at the top of the map. Does anyone know how to get the chainsaw? I've heard if you complete all the Celebrity Bodyguard missions in the Marina you can get it. However, those are hard as hell. Is there another way?
|
I finished this at 78%, great game. I'll try and finish Dead Space next and concentrate on Fable II and Fallout 3.
|
Does anyone know where the Heron Hotel is? I am looking for a hitman target that is supposed to be there, but I have spent 20 mins looking and can't find it. It says it is in the Marina district.

I think it's on the same road as Poseidan's Palace. You have to enter the hotel from the side. Look for a statue of a golden heron. I know that doesn't sound like much help, but I was in the same predicament but that's how I found it. There's no sign at least not visible from the road. Look for a side entrance and then it's cake.
I just beat this tonight. The cinematics were amazing. The missions were tons of fun and pretty fair. Overall this lived up to my own hype and it's such a damn shame that this game won't sell nearly as many copies as GTA IV when it's better in every single way. |
I was walking around looking for a Sign, and a front entrance, so this info should help. I don't like that the crosshair icon doesn't show up untill you get into certain buildings.
I think I am having more fun playing this than GTA4. I enjoyed both, but this is more fun to me. I like the fact there are not as many chase missions also, I always hate those. |
The checkpoint system helped alot, and I felt like I liked these characters more then the GTA IV characters.
GTA IV had some better things, but the music on this game and the fun factor kills GTA IV. |
I found the Heron today. The gold Heron was inside the lobby, so It is very hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for. It is the first building to the NW of the casino, it is shaped like a U on the map and I found an entrance on the east side.

There are a few things that irk me with Saints Row 2...the driving isn't realistic...the people are like rubber (when you fall from a short distance and your character doesn't even ragdoll...it's like he's made of rubberbands)...many, many things that are complete ripoffs of GTA. It's a very fun game, but it's definitely not better than GTA. = J |
