Help!! Bioshock & Lost Planet demos not running.

I can install and run Bioshock, but when it get's to loading the level the program just gets stuck in limbo and I can faintly see a loading screen with a quote from one of the game characters. It stays like this for up to 30 minutes before I Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill the process.

Lost Planet does the same thing but gets stuck on a completely black screen after the loading screen.

I have re-downloaded and reinstalled these demos 2-3 times.
Since they have been released I have updated my Graphics drivers 3 times.
I have also reduced all graphics settings to minimum but that seems to have no affect.

I have a feeling it has something to do with DirectX10 since both these games use it, and I don't have any issues with any other games.

Last time I did a Windows Update was a month ago so I do that and try again.

Specs are:
AMD 64 X2 5000+ @ 2.6Ghz
4GB RAM
Geforce 8800GTS 320MB
Vista Premium 32-Bit
DirectX 10 installed

Do you have the latest driver installed for your graphics card?

There was a beta driver released not long ago. I've installed that as well.

I really want to play both of these games. I'd go and buy them but then what if the same thing happens??
