Ditto. Or $60 PS3... Or even $50 Wii. I'll get Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata at B&M if/when they get it.

So I went to the TRU in Times Square NY. The had the sale going on accessories and games. I was about to pick up Stranglehold and 2 other games, when I noticed that Stranglehold was listed at $68.99, what a rip-off! I promptly put it back and proceeded to get the 3 $29.99 games on my list. Also, scored some Wii points and a 360 Messenger Kit, which was $33.99 instead of $29.99.

I picked up
Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)
Godfather (Wii)
Yoshi's Island 2 (DS)

I was hoping for Marvel Ultimate Alliance Gold but they were out. I'm thinking of trying another TRU and picking up MUA: Gold with Red Steel and another game, but I'm not sure Red Steel is worth even $20 after seeing some peoples impressions.

Can't justify getting the $50 or $60 games. Even at $33 or $40 average, it seems too pricey.

Does the TRU@Times Sq have these 360 games?

NHL 08, Skate, Eternal Sonata

Or Persona 3 (PS2)?

Went to 2 stores here in St. Louis. One had the sale going on now, the other one said it starts nationwide this Sunday and will be in the ad as well. Anyways, Rainbow Six Vegas, Heavenly Sword, and Warhawk for $128 w/tax.

They didn't have Eternal Sonata, so I got Bioshock, skate., and NCAA 2008. I might try going back Friday or next week if the sale is still on and exchange NCAA for Eternal Sonata or a copy of Halo for my brother.

Also got 8000 Live points.

They had to go in back to find Bioshock, and said they had like 6 boxes of Halo sitting back there for the last week.

Picked up:
Wii Play
Metroid Prime Corruption
Mario Strikers Charged

I'm selling off Wii Play and just keeping the extra Wiimote. I got a gift receipt for Mario Strikers, which I'll exchange for Mario Galaxy when it comes out. End result is $80 for Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime Corruption, and an extra Wiimote. Not bad.

I was tempted to get some 360 games, but they didn't have Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, or a number of other titles. Oh well, I've got enough games to last me for a while.

You know there's a Special Collectors Edition of Stranglehold that is out there that comes with a DVD of the making of the game and such, right? That one is higher priced...

I was going to get Metroid Prime 3 this week anyway, so now I get my Xmas shopping done too.

Metroid Prime 3 (Wii)
Super Paper Mario (Wii)
Sims 2 Pets (Wii)

I know that I do not quite maximize my the deal, as Sims 2 was only $29.99 vs the other two being $49.99, but there was nothing else that I wanted.

My Toys R Us had no Stranglehold or Ninja Gaiden Sigma. *sigh

The guy was trying to sell me the lone remaining copy of Bioshock.

Just a warning, it's YMMV when it comes to exchanging some of these games for games that come out later or are out of stock. Usually, you have to make sure that the game you're exchanging is NOT the free one, as they usually won't let you exchange the one that comes up as $0.00, even with a gift receipt.

So if this sale is going to happen "officially" next week, doesn't that coincide with the Halo 3 launch? I remember a few years ago they had the sale at the same time that a GTA game came out, but you'd think they'd save the sale for a later date...

Could be, but they also had Juiced 2 priced at $68.99. Is there an Se of that game too?

My local store knew nothing of the sale, of course that is until I had them ring up Wii Play, Mario Strikers Charged, and Mario Party 8 and one came up free after subtotaling it...

So some Christmas shopping done.

Exchanged Strikers for a Wii Nunchuk and Madden 08 for DS (for my son's Birthday) on the way home.

I guess I'm going to have to sit this one out. Neither of my stores have Eternal Sonata nor have any idea if/when it'll show up. I heard a rumor that this might be in print on Sunday's ads (but I doubt it with Halo hitting and all).

Anybody have any luck getting another B&M to match this deal?

Thanks for the update. I can get BD for cheap, so I was really hoping for Eternal Sonata.

Well, I shouldn't be spending too much $$ anyway, so I will sit this one out.

Yeah I couldn't find Eternal Sonata either, tried a store yesterday and one today. They have the worst inventory management I've ever seen, so it could very well be sitting in a box in back.

FWIW, apparently you *might* be able to return an unopened game from this deal in exchange for a title of the same price within 45 days of purchase. So you could get 3 games (make sure the 3rd, the "free" game, is one you want to keep), then exchange the other 2 in the next 45 days for other games (GH3, Orange Box, Halo, etc.). I wouldn't post this if I thought it unethical, since it's all going by TRU's own terms. The risk, of course, is that you get 2 games you don't want and they won't let you exchange them.

I don't know if store policies have changed since then, but a couple years ago I got Best Buy to match this sale without any problem. I just had to provide a copy of TRU's Sunday flyer. Might want to wait till Sunday and give it a shot.

My games shipped today...was well worth the extra $6 shipping to avoid spending $4 in gas and any of my precious time driving to and from the closest TRU (about 15-17 miles).

Can't wait to play MP3...gotta finish MP2 before it gets here.

And can't wait for some Strikers online!

Looks like TRU.com finally shows Eternal Sonata as an item, so anyone looking can at least order it that way. Now to hope the local B&Ms have something nice to tell me later today...

It's showing that it's not part of the B2G1 deal.

That's true. If the B&M got it in, it might still work there. I'm not interested in paying shipping anyway.

I've heard that this sale ends this Saturday, before Halo comes out. What's the official dates for this sale?
