So what happens when you lose a battle?
Anyone interested in a trade (Eternal Sonata + $10) for perfect condition Oblivion LE? Everything like new (disc 1 has minor scratches throughout the disc but plays great). |

looked at the faq and i'm confused about how to get to the Mysterious Unison. The faq said i need to kil the "Ruined Body at the top of Double Reed Tower". How do I get there? I went to the 7th (top) flr of both east and west towers and do not see it there.
Also, how do you get out of the tower to go back to Noise Dunes? one more question - what is harmony chain and how do you activate it? i activiated it a few times by accident. |

A brief review:
Eternal Sonata is one of the most immersive, epic RPG’s to come out in quite some time. As a JRPG, it has cel-shaded graphics and vibrant colors that may turn off people who prefer the gritty, realistic graphics of many recent games, but if you’re willing to look past that, you’re really in for a treat. The game features more than twice the amount of playable characters of the average RPG, and features creative music-related names such as Allegretto, Beat, Polka, Falsetto, Jazz, Waltz, March, Salsa, Viola, Claves, Serenade, and others. The basic premise is that composer Frederic Chopin is deathly ill and sitting in bed. He is dreaming of a magical world filled with monsters and battles and epic journeys, and that is the world in which you play. The game features very long cut scenes that are skippable via the pause menu, and also features brief history lessons about Chopin’s actual life, as well as many of his most famous songs. Each chapter is named after one of these songs, and thematically each fits very nicely. Overall, the game is a marvelous experience and I’d say it shouldn’t be missed by anyone, whether you’re a fan of music or Chopin in particular, a fan of Japanese animation, a fan of RPG’s, or a fan of gaming in general. |
WOW, I just got this game today and wow, this game looks and sounds amazing. The Graphics just pop off your screen, the colors and detail. The music in the game is beautiful. I LOVE this game so far. I love the way it tells the story in the intro. It feels like a wonderful storybook. Great dialouge and characters, Voiceacting is pretty good. This game has a wonderful feeling too it. This game is full of heart. The combat is alot of fun too. Wow I just got this from gametap, but I might have to buy this game.
So far the production values are fantastic. Graphics, cutscenes, music, etc.   |
Nearing the end of Blue Dragon (after about a 7 month hiatus). Thinking of picking up ES for my next 360 JRPG. Still recommended?

The game has some issues, but the battle system is fun and the game is short enough to be enjoyable despite some of the annoyances (lame and extremely overlong cutscenes, only three or four monsters per dungeon). I enjoyed it for the hack and slash aspect and the graphics are gorgeous. It seems to be taking a beating from everyone after the fact though.

I tried the demo, and the game was ludicrously linear (there was really only one way you could go at any time). Is that true of the full game, or is it more open?

So I played for 6 hours tonight and I'm only half-way through Chapter 2. How come no one told me how much like Baiten Kaitos this is? Obviously not the battles (thank God!), but the character design (even down to Allegretto's pseudo-wing) and the pre-rendered overworlds.
I like it. It's bright and cheery, but the opening sequence alone (with Polka's fall and wondering if her kiss would reach 'him') let me know right away that this was going to be an interesting story. I hope that holds up. I do like that the battles aren't random, are avoidable, and are not exhaustible. I do wish games would stop making me only take a fraction of my entire party into battle. At least the idlers seem to gain levels anyway. Roughly how long is this game - can I just assume 4 hours per chapter? How many Chapters? |
