Imports and CD-ROMē Coming to Wii VC!

Imports are starting to hit European regions. This week, they're getting the original Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Picross. Next week they're getting Ninja Jajamaru. Two weeks from now? Well.. they're getting SIN & PUNISHMENT!!! Picross apparently still contains Japanese text.

Then, some pre-TGS news from Hudson is that they've finalized getting PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16 CD-ROMē games on the Wii (where's that hard drive?) in all regions. At 800 points a pop, Ys I & II and Cho Aniki are the first ones that are supposed to be arriving.

This is all exciting news, but the CD games make me think that HDD support has to be on the way. Finally more people can play Rondo of Blood and for only 800 points.

Well, Rondo of Blood is coming out for the PSP (in English). But if they've already made an English version of the PCE original, I bet it will show up on the Wii. I just hope they improve the video quality of the PCE/TG16 emulator, all the other systems on the VC look sharp and crisp, but the PCE/TG16 games have too much softness to them. Anyway, the audio on these games will probably be compressed, putting the file sizes around 60-100MB.. but yeah, they'll still need that HDD or at least allow them to run off of the SD Card.

I already have YS1&2 on CD, but somehow 800 points for a turbo cd game just seems a whole lot more attractive than the average snes/gen game for 800 points. Good pricing.

I'm picking up a new points card in anticipation of this. Sin & Punishment is going to be mine faster than anything. I can't wait to see how it looks on the VC's improved N64 graphics. I'll also pick up Super Mario Bros. 2 simply to throw my support down on international releases (I already own a "pirate" NES copy of it). Of course, this is all based on the hope that these leave Europe and end up here.. which they very much probably will.

This is Tremendous news. I have a TurboDuo that sees very little use partially for the restrictive cost of software. I hope they release a lot of titles this way.

Seriously?? Cho Aniki???

Isn't that the "gay-themed" shooter they've talked about multiple times in EGM? With all the naked men and what-not?
Wow, Nintendo is trying their best to break that kiddie image now I guess...

Keeping my fingers crossed for all of this.

However, I beat the lost levels once on SMB All Stars and don't see myself going through that torture test again. Sin and Punishment and Super Picross are high on my want list though.

I don't know. I see Nintendo limiting the releases of those games to a certain mb size instead of enabling SD or HDD support.

Wasn't there a news piece about them telling independent developers about the new games coming to the WiiWare that they had to be under a certain mb?
