360 Problems - My Network or Console?

I've been having problems with my 360 lately.. It seems to have started when I downloaded the COD4 Beta but I doubt that has anything to do with it..

I mainly only play GOW and now COD4 beta for multiplayer.. All single player games play fine. I noticed the problem first when trying to play COD4..

I go into the beta, try to find a game, it searches , says getting match quality, trying to join potential matches... It sits there for about 15 seconds or so then it puts me in a room by myself and says "waiting for 6 more players.."

After about 10 seconds in there a message pops up:

"Notice
You must be signed in to Xbox Live to play Xbox Live matches.
Exit"

So I hit "A" and it will eventually say the same message on just a black screen and also tell me I'm disconnected from Live.

Now, the weird thing is if someone were to invite me I can get in their room and usually play.. All this sounds like it's COD4 beta that's the problem..

So I then try GOW. I try to go into some random ranked matches. It lets me get into a room and then will give some message like room not available after a few seconds. I try to search again and it will say no rooms found and put me in my own room just like COD4..

This is my second xbox. I'm just wondering if this is a network issue or if someone has had similar problems and had it be their xbox.

My network connection to my 360 is as follows:

Cable Modem > Watchguard Soho Firewall / Hub > Patch Cable to junction box > cable down the outside of my house into junction box > patch cable from there to a mini hub > patch cable to xbox.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

temporarily move the 360 closer to the modem (first hub) and see if you can narrow the problem down
