Last time I checked, Halo was an FPS (has that changed?) and under ten hours is normal for the genre.

It matters, because if it was under eight hours on Legendary, it would be about three on Easy probably. If it is eight hours on easy, then it could be 20+ on Legendary.

I never considered "replaying" portions of a game to be part of the total game-time. I always thought of it as the cumulative time from save to save.

For games that calculate your total time for you, they usually don't count replays. But when a game doesn't calculate your time for you, I don't know how you'd figure out how many of your hours were from replaying spots after deaths.

I assumed he meant on easy, it is easy to mow down the enemy without worrying about ammo or dying, and you can just run right through the game.

However you have to go a slower pace on Legendary, and take out the enemies more methodically which takes longer to do. Not to mention you die more frequently during harder difficulties which means replaying sections and adding to the overall length of the experience.

Yes, up to four players. And not four Master Chiefs, either. One Master Chief, one Arbiter and two other original characters.

I don't mind that amount of time, I wish more developers would refine the games down to similar lengths, especially games where the game mechanics really don't change throughout the game.

Really? I loved that game when I was a boy, but I tried to play it again recently and it was not awesome.

So is it true that if you have halo 3 before the 25th and log into xbox to play the game, that you will be banned?

There is no flippin way this is true. You can't help it if 7-11 or EB, BB, whoever sells you the game a day or two early. This is just another "everyone who downloaded the COD4 beta from someone else is banned" bullshit situation.

No. I've heard of them banning people for playing the pre release version, but I'm sure there are only a few that have gotten their hands on it. Other than that they only ban people who have modded xbox consoles and they don't ban the gamertag they ban the unit.

I should be getting Halo 3 by Friday. And while I'm pretty sure I won't get banned for playing it early, I'm gonna disconnect the ethernet cable from the 360 whenever I play it before the 25th just to be safe.

Ok, fair enough. I thought they had banned some folks over getting on LIVE with some game before a release date.

My local independent "mom&pop" video game store told me they should be getting it in by Friday and they'll sell it as soon as they do - I've gotten many games from them early. Also, I know a dude that owns s 7-11, and I could hit him up, though I'm not completely sure if he can do it - he said he'd let me know.

7-11's first (and only) video game so far is Halo3 - that's the whole joke of being able to buy it at gas stations, and how absolutely ridiculous pre-orders are for it.

I got in on the Pontiac IWG so my copy will be at my house legally on the 24th. That means for certain no one will be banned for playing it on the 24th.
