I really doubt it. This isn't a major redesign like the DS; it's more of a refinement like they did with the far more successful PS2 (and that wasn't hard to find either) I doubt many PSP owners will be upgrading.

Yeah, I brought mine used.

The psp can only play mp4 format for movies?

I know there's a AVI player you can download but I don't know if you need an older firmware.

Just picked up the silver psp slim and love it! Was wondering if it was compatable with the Scan Disk Memory Pro Duo brand? they're cheaper than the sony ones.

Also can this system support 8 gig memory cards regardless of brand?

It can use any brand memory stick, that part doesn't matter. I believe the current limitation is 4 gig.

Does anyone know if they're planning on making it compatible with 8 gig memory cards? would it just be a firmware upgrade? The 4 gigs are quite cheap now, especially the scan disk ones :)

I bought the 4GB SanDisk card at CompUSA for $50 and it works perfectly.

8GB compatibility would be nice, but the prices on those sticks are still out of line. It would still be much cheaper to buy two 4GB sticks.
