I am weird when it comes to this. Ever since I got my HDTV, I'm fine with most games. RTCW I played for over 500 hours without a problem. Same for Gears of War. I can't remember the last game that made me feel really sick. But I do think the light being on and sitting as far back as you can helped me a lot.

Wal-mart, Walgreens, and GNC all sell them. Walgreens has a B1G1 free sale on vitamins this week, so they were a little cheaper than Wal-mart. (assuming you're eventually going to use 200 pills)
I couldn't find any ginger altoids locally.
I always get motion sickness with games that rotate left/right too quickly. Same sick feeling I get if I try to read in a moving vehicle. Doesn't matter if it's FPS games or 3D platformers, as soon as the view rotates horizontally too quickly I feel ill. Even the bowser board on Mario Party 8 bothers me. My head swoons every time the board rotates and reverses direction. I have to close my eyes whenever the reversing board sequence starts.
I picked up some ginger root pills, and tried half a pill last night. Felt a little buzzed about 30 minutes after taking it. I tried playing some Doom on the Jaguar; it's a really fast version and always gave me motion sickness within 10-15 minutes. I played for about 30 minutes, and still felt ok. I was getting a bit of a headache, but not the normal motion sickness feeling. Headache might have been caused by the ginger root? I'll probably try taking some again this weekend.

Quick google hunt turned up this from mythbusters (via slashdot):
My wife gets this. She can't even look at the projector when I'm playing Gears. The shaky camera when running and 3d graphics make her very ill.
The 1st Buffy the Vampire Slayer game on the xbox made her throw up within minutes :0

Couldn't you just have a smaller TV for gaming, and keep your large one for movies etc.? If that's the obvious problem, then it's the obvious solution for your motion sickness while playing games!!

Find the smallest TV that you can. My wife has the same problem and stays clear when I play Mario Cart on the projector.
