Yea, thats the one place I couldnt explire. SPent an hour looking for a way in till I hit a FAQ. Damn man you dont like me do you? Tenenbaum gave me less grief :D

That isn't exactly right. If you have the free downloadable content, there are a total of 57 plasmids. The added plasmids count towards the achievement.

I played through this recently and enjoyed it. I stupidly (?) played through on hard, but after about 3/4 of the way through it was fairly easy. I found myself using death as a tactic as I would go whatever damage I could on a Daddy, regenerate and then run back for more. It made for some slow going, but it worked.

I thought the story was interesting and quite original. I really thought it was going somewhere else entirely so was pleased I hadn't "figured it all out" so to speak.

Since I didn't harvest the girls I received the nice ending, but it was still a little weird.

^ I just did a bit of research and found out that there's an uber-limited Bioshock faceplate out there. I don't know if mine is one of them (I haven't been home yet to actually SEE the delivery)... but I'm betting it's not. I doubt they'd still have those lying around.

I wouldn't be so sure. I think the limited Bioshock faceplate is the ONLY Bioshock faceplate. They were only sent to Gamestop managers, IIRC, so the only way to get one was to know somebody or pay a fortune on ebay. I think you hit the jackpot.

PS3 version on sale for $29.99 at Best Buy this weekend with a $10 coupon on 2kgames.com website.

Looks like I'll finally be picking this up. I'll play it when I finish Heavenly Sword and Lego Star Wars.

Well worth $20. I paid $30 on Amazon a few weeks back and have been playing through in chunks.

It's a brilliant game, no doubt...atmospheric...unique...great narrative...polished...etc.

But it does have one flaw that is nearly fatal for me: in most circumstances, you're better off dying than using your first aid or ammo. I killed a big daddy with a wrench the other night just because he followed me to vita chamber. I'd whack him a few times and respawn over and over. It was mildly amusing...but at some point, I just thought "this is stupid".

I'll stick with Mario Galaxy for Game of the Year 2007.

Still, I'd play Bioshock long before either of the games you listed.

That's not a flaw, that's an option you have as a gamer.

That's why there's an achievement (trophy?) for playing the game without using any vita chamber.

Well, I've already started HS - so that gets finished before anything else. And I've just had LSW in the "on deck" circle for a while. I need to play it eventually.

There's a narrative explanation for the vita-chambers, so it fits in with the story. It would be nice if it punished you by leaving all your weapons, ammo, and items behind though. Even your clothes, I guess.

I didn't realize that was an option...don't they activate when you come near them?

There's an option to disable the vita-chambers. This the only way to avoid them by default. It forces a game over and more manual saving.

There is an option to turn them off completely, which forces you to load a saved game when you die. You can also get the achievement manually by loading whenever you die.
