 cycling through weapons. rotfl

I can't believe your are as far in the game as you are and cycling. Wow.

Sorry, I've been refering to Arcadia. For some reason, I thought it was called Utopia.

Oh and FYI about the water:

Spoiler:
You may have plenty of distilled water before you even reach the bottom of the winery. But you should head down their anyway. There is a weapon upgrade station at the bottom of the stairs.

OK, I've finished Arcadia. Hopped the metro to the next portion.

The options have increased for inventing, which is nice. I still think the player should have more customization options when inventing stuff.

I also found out the limit of the wallet is $500. That really pisses me off. I had to leave about $150 bucks behind in the last section.

In that case, Suprmallet, how did you get Dracula's nephew to follow you into the time machine? And was he able to break the curse that kept you in the cryogenic UNN holo-world? I thought it was clever how the whole game took place after System Shock 2.

Thanks for the heads up I have close to $400 right now. I've been cheap about buying ammo, so I should start going all out now.

Spoiler:
Have you come across incinerate 2 yet? I haven't but I can't wait to. Also what do you think of the flamthrower/nitro/electro gun? I think it's kind of redundant since we already have those powers with our plasmids

No, I haven't seen it yet.

Spoiler:
I really don't care for the Flamethrower gun. It's a pain in the ass to load and it overheats constantly. Like you said, plasmid power does the exact same thing.

I will say the napalm works wonders against the Rosie version of the Bid Daddy. Assuming you have been researching her as heavily as me, her health can be reduced in half before she even has time to react.

Flay 08-18-07 12:07 PM

House, I just found what you are looking for!

Spoiler:
Incenerate 2 is in the section after Arcadia. It's called Fort Frolic. You can also purchase the second level of the Winter Storm & Electric Bolt as well. It's in a machine on the second floor of the Upper Atrium on the map.

Basically, Incenerate 2 stacks each time you cast it. Increases the intensity of the flames. :)

:(

But until the 21st the game isn't officially released :)

The first thing that came to mind with that review was, gushing.

he did gush a little. ;)

The saddest part about the release date is that on the tuesday it comes out, I have work that evening, then the girl I'm seeing is coming over and spending the night, and THEN there's a 311 concert I'm going to Wednesday night... I won't be able to get really into the game till Thursday, and that just makes me upset. :(

Flay 08-18-07 03:50 PM

I just hit the "Holy Shit" moment of the storyline. The execution was a bit on the vauge side, but I'm still impressed. The following story twist, 2 minutes later, tied everything together even better.

I also believe I found the path where the story diverges dependent on if you have been harvesting or saving the Little Sisters. DO NOT read the spoiler if you haven't got to the major twist in the story.

Spoiler:
After the Ryan incident and following conversation with Atlas, I was helped out of the joint by a Little Sister. She took me to Tennebaum's place, who gave me info of the next place to go.

Anyway, if you have been harvesting the entire time, is the story different for you at that point?

System Shock 2 is one of my all time favorite games. I've been waiting anxiously for Bioshock since it was just an idea in somebody's head, and have been eagerly following all the developments about it, all the way up to release. I think I deserve to gush a little. :)

And besides, I'd like to think I went into the reasons that I was going nuts for it. It's not like my review just says "OMG 4W3S0M3!" or anything.

Heh. "Oh, no, sex is interfering with my Bioshock!"

You must have been harvesting Little Sisters rather than saving them, because when I played
Spoiler:
It was Frankenstein's second cousin's college roommate, and the whole game took place after the Lucasarts point and click game The Dig.

But that just goes to show you how vastly different the playing experience can be.

Agreed. With so may FPS games out there these days it's nice to see some innovation. One thing I think you failed to mention was the lack a multi-player element. Not too many FPS games lately are single player only. Black was the last major title that I can think of. I for one am not disappointed about that in any way. I solid single player game can make up for the multi-player aspect. And vice versa is true as well like Halo2. That was the only issue I felt you didn't cover in an otherwise great review.

Supermallet 08-18-07 04:52 PM

You're right, I didn't mention. I completely forgot about it, in fact. I'll add it in at some point. Thanks.

Michael Corvin 08-18-07 06:59 PM

I will never slight a game for only offering an enriching single player experience. I'd rather have a 4 star single player than a 3 star game with a 1 star tacked on MP mode ala Prey, the Darkness, and Metroid Prime: Echoes.

Flay 08-18-07 09:12 PM

The Big Daddies are kind of sad without their Little Sisters. They just mope around, moan, and bang on the holes the Little Sisters crawl into.

I'm believe I'm heading into the final section of the game. I suspect it's going to be a bumpy ride. :)

timewaster 08-18-07 09:49 PM

how do u access your inventory?
how do you use stuff in your inventory like wine etc?

There is no inventory. With the exception of health kits & Eve injections, you can only immediately use items.

CKMorpheus 08-19-07 01:59 AM

I went over to the EB games at Universal Citywalk to see the life-size Big Daddy! To my disappointment... the arms were missing!!!!!!!!

I asked an employee about it and apparently they fell off and landed on a kid.

Well he shouldn't have been fuckin' with a Big Daddy!

Flay 08-19-07 10:31 AM

For those who have made it to Fort Frolic: (not really a spoiler)

Spoiler:
Has anyone figured out how to access the light blue plasmid that's in the glass case (to the right as you enter for the first time)? It's the last one I need to finish up my 53 plasmid achievement.

Also, has anyone opened the metal grate that covers the stairs leading to the basement area? Anything important down there? It's in the mall section, near the criss-cross staircases.
