New Page Update: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Friend List

The game uses your standard WiiConnect24 code to connect to other owners of Metroid Prime 3 to trade friend tokens for unlocking extras. You MUST turn this on in your Metroid Prime 3 extras menu first and foremost.. then you will have access to your friend list and anyone on there with a copy of the game will appear in black. Clicking on a name allows you send a token to that person. Be sure to send a token in return for receiving one! Also, if you are adding people to your list, be sure to indicate exactly who you are adding (or if you are adding everyone) so that the corresponding parties can add you in turn.

<table><tr><td>chess:</td><td>2544 2260 3103 0128</td></tr><tr><td>Giantrobo:</td><td>3016 5988 8229 5603</td></tr><tr><td>kakihara1:</td><td>5326 6175 1451 2219</td></tr><tr><td>Michael Corvin:</td><td>3497 1324 7344 6386</td></tr><tr><td>PixyJunket:</td><td>6412 9669 8014 0667</td></tr><tr><td>SmackDaddy:</td><td>4765 2116 0184 6098</td></tr><tr><td>steebo777:</td><td>3706 0375 3522 3738</td></tr><tr><td>SuperBatMan:</td><td>0532 0556 2974 9764</td></tr><tr><td>Suprmallet:</td><td>6223 2319 6798 9269</td></tr><tr><td>UncleGramps:</td><td>3155 5265 7877 7786</td></tr></table>
If you do not own the game and you're on this list, please let me know so I can avoid clutter, we have a thread for general friend code trading. I tried to discern from previous posts on whether someone had bought it or not, but a couple of them were ambiguous and I might have added a couple in sheer haste.

The following members have indicated that they own the game through their posts but their friend codes were not in their signatures. If you post your friend code here I will add you to the master list. Also, if you own the game, haven't posted yet and want on the list, just post your code and it shall be done.

Hey Pixy, I don't have the game yet, but I did purchase it. I'm just waiting for it to ship. Here's my friend code. 0497 6617 6644 6640

Michael Corvin 08-30-07 02:59 PM

Fortunately I think I already have most of you in my address book. Thanks for the list Pixy.

I do have the game (though I'm barely an hour into it)
I'll be able to add people over the weekend - long weekend - YAY!

Supermallet 08-30-07 04:06 PM

Okay, so I received Pixy's friend voucher (thanks!) but when I try to send one back, Pixy isn't on the in-game friend list, even though he's in my address book. I've only got four pages of the in-game list, with only three people per page, which is way less than what I've got in my address book. Anyone know a way to fix that?

I've got about ten ready to send out and only UncleGramps is showing up in my list as having a Metroid save (and enabling token trading).

Yeah I didn't even noticed the voucher thing until this morning. I was just looking at the features on the game and was like,"what's this?".

I'm having fun with the game so far. I really do appreciate being given the option to switch the fire buttons between A and B. I wish there was an easier/quicker way to access the scan Visor but I can live with it.

SuperBatMan 08-31-07 06:47 AM

So I got up to the mini-boss
Spoiler:
Krokka
. I defeated him with like 9 health left after wasting two energy tanks before realizing what to do.

Now, I have to get through work, but then it's a three day Metroid filled weekend!

PixyJunket 08-31-07 08:18 AM

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW!!

You guys are in for a treat when you get to the Xenomorph Research Faculty on Elysia. Maybe I'm still riding high on excitement, but that scene was phenomenal and just sent chills up my spine.

Spoiler:
Walking through all those long corridors, watching the Metroids in their containment chambers practically dragging their knuckles across the glass ready to get you (and the one showing you their bottom with the second mouth, wow). Then, when you drop the power and grab the item at the end of the corridors, you return and see all the chambers broken.. you know you're in for some shit. The music and atmosphere, just totally amazing.
I had to save and quit right after that, it was past 10. It's just not fair that I'm at work today. I AM THE ONLY ONE HERE. Everyone else is taking the day off, I'm not needed today!

You'll get the hang of it. I did not like that at first but now I can switch VERY quickly with a flick of the wrist.

I got this game...seems really great so far. Count me in for the voucher action, even though I'm not sure what they are for yet.

UncleGramps 08-31-07 12:11 PM

OK, I updated my friends list. I added chess, Giantrobo, kakihara1, and steebo777.

Michael Corvin, PixyJunket, and SmackDaddy are on my list in black, so they've already added me.

SuperBatMan, Suprmallet, and slop101 are on my list in grey, so feel free to add me if you have room on your friends list and want some tokens.

As for the game itself, I spent a few hours playing this morning and made it to Elysia. One thing struck me as a little weird (slight spoiler for end of Bryyo):
Spoiler:
After you beat the boss in the Leviathan seed and get the Hyper Ball powerup, there's a cutscene. Then you see the text "Press A to fire Phazon energy towards the core!" in huge letters on the screen. You press A and the cutscene finishes. It seemed a little weird to interrupt a cutscene for user interaction when all you have to do is hit one button. Is it just me, or did anyone else find it slightly out of place?

The boss battles in this game are fantastic so far.

spainlinx0 08-31-07 12:16 PM

It is killing me reading this thread while waiting for the game to ship. If it doesn't get here today or tomorrow, I will have to wait until Tuesday. :(

I thought that was odd too, but not a big deal.

You should be getting to what I put in spoiler tags above, though I think you do get some freedom in what objectives you go after shortly after you get to Elysia, so maybe not. But let me know what you think of that section once you get through it.

Also, I added everyone above last night as well.

Oh, I definitely agree that it's not a big deal at all. Just a minor oddity.

I'm curious to see what it is you're talking about in the spoiler tags. I'll read that post once I play through that part and add my comments.

jediwicz 08-31-07 02:19 PM

I added everyone in Pixy's #202 post. Gonna start today, I tried to finish Bioshock first but Samus is calling me..."please don't hurt Mr. B."

Ghym 08-31-07 04:04 PM

I added my Wii Code to my signature. I'll be adding everyone on Pixy's list.

Supermallet 08-31-07 05:41 PM

I started up the game today and suddenly more people were on my friend list, so I sent Pixy a friend voucher in exchange for the one I got earlier. I also added everyone from Pixy's list as well as slop and Ghym. I have two vouchers left, so if anyone wants to exchange, let me know.

Edit: actually, looking at the list, it says Det. Thorn sent me one, but shows 0 as received from Pixy. So Pixy might owe me one now. :)

I'm not saying it's a bad game at all. I'm still having fun playing it. And I'm not asking that the game be clear cut on what needs to be done, but I would like to have an idea of what I need to do next, or at least know what area it has to be done in.

Here's what's weird to me: I have the hint system turned off, but I keep getting frequent communications from the Aurora units telling me my next basic goal and, sometimes, where to go. There was even a case where it specifically told me that I'd have to go back to a planet I had previously visited. I'm assuming that this is what's happening for everyone else? Or is there some option I accidentally set that's giving me extra hints? It kinda seems like this game is giving me more guidance than the previous MP games ever did. I don't really mind all that much, but it made the above post about a lack of guidance seem slightly odd.

Giantrobo 09-01-07 05:52 AM

Is there some kind of "Cold" based power up coming later in this game? I'm not that far in and I'm getting the feeling this series is one of those where you have to get upgrades and other stuff then back track to access areas right?

Supermallet 09-01-07 06:29 AM

Yeah, just like in all the other Metroid games. :)

Thanks. I haven't really played the others. I have one other Metroid GC game but I haven't really played it much .

Supermallet 09-01-07 07:44 AM

Metroid's been that way since the NES. Of course, the big thing about the first few games was that you could sequence break if you were creative enough. With these ones, it's a lot harder, because the developers grew up playing Metroid and know the tricks people use to break sequence, so they purposely shut those areas off with something that requires a certain power-up to break.

Makes sense.

I picked this up a few days ago and just started plaing it yesterday. It's pretty damn good so far. Glad to hear that you all like it so much.
