I would think that it would at least be getting ready to ship. If not then I will just pick up a copy at Toys R Us getting a 10 dollar gift card and the strategy guide for free.

Re: iD's Rage= "Mad Max Thunderdome" pc,360,ps3

The Amazon orders almost never go into processing/preparing to ship status until the Monday before release day anymore, and sometimes not even until late in the day. It still comes on release day. So plan accordingly.

I still might jump on the TRUS deal along with my Amazon order to get the free guide and the 10 dollar gift card. Then just use the extra copy as a gift or trade bait.

Mine changed in status to Charged. Hope that means it ships soon. Man, $42.99 was really an incredible price for a new release of this caliber. Great deal.

I got my tracking number for newegg as well. Spent some time today clearing some HD space for the mega install.

Man I hope the load times aren't super long without the install. I still have my original hd so I don't even have the space to install it. It seems a few games of late have had really long load times if it's not installed, Deus Ex for example. I don't mind having to swap a disc a couple times but sitting through long load times after dying is not fun.
I read the review embargo is being lifted sometime later tonight so hopefully I'll know a little more then.

Sad to hear the campaign is only 12-hour, I hope that doesn't include side quests.

The managing editor says down in the message board 12-20 depending on side quests and player suckage so I'm guessing around 15-18 for myself. :)

IGN gave it an 8.5 and said it drags at the end, and the open world is mainly for the vehicle segments.

Still, I'll pick it up at TRU for the gift card and the free guide.

Can't wait to see all the people come out and whine about how it actually is nothing like Borderlands. I don't want to say I told you...

Yes... I do. -ptth-

I have always wondered where people got the idea that it would be anything like Borderlands in the first place. Because they are both post-apocalyptic games and every post-apocalyptic game has to be the same?

The developer is ID, so that alone should tell people the game is going to be more like Doom and Quake than Borderlands.

Because people on this forum compare EVERYTHING to Borderlands. Then again, even Joystiq started their review saying it is nothing like Fallout 3 or Borderlands. I think people watched some videos and picked out certain aspects of it, and ignored the rest, and decided it was like a certain game.

The good thing is, it's still a great (good? I haven't played the final build, or much of the earlier builds) game.

What the hell, I thought this was supposed to be Fallout 3 type length :(
Eh, I'm happy I only spent $43 for a new copy on release day.

I'm definitely glad it's not, I like finishing my games and anything over 14 hours or so is discouraging, tend to avoid them completely these days.

It was initially described as a post-apocalyptic FPS with light RPG elements and some vehicular combat. I can't imagine why people might have thought it was like Borderlands.

Joystiq
3 out of 5

They say the gameplay is 9-10 hours for the campaign.

I pre-ordered this from newegg for the Xbox for $43. After reading some reviews, I hope I am not disappointed with the game.

Agreed. I loved 30+ hour games when I was a kid and had a lot of free time, but nowadays I appreciate shorter games. Anyway, most long games artificially lengthen the game with grinding fluff material and wouldn't be nearly as long without the fluff.

Light RPG elements and vehicular combat doesn't mean a whole lot. Bioshock had light RPG elements and was still very much an FPS. Half-Life 2 had vehicular combat and was still very much an FPS.
