I just finished the first half of the fire cup. I managed to get the brick wall by letting up six goals and the scoring trophy with 67 points. I'm hoping I'm playing well enough to get the harder trophies, but from what people are saying here I'm not getting my hopes up.

I don't have a 360, so for anyone who wants to play against me or with me, it will be no chat unfortunately.

i have the scoring and brick wall trophies in the first two cups, and i'm getting destroyed in every early match in the third cup. this game is ridiculously hard, and i'm not even playing the hard difficulty.

striker cup is so fucking cheap. just hit a 6 ball megastrike in the orange perfectly against daisy and goalie saved all of them.

My internet better be up by the time this closes. I really want in on this tourney... hmm... time for some more practice! (I've only played a couple of 3-game matches against the computer. So far it seems almost the same as the GC version, but with some added features (I like being able to pick the side-kicks for example). I haven't quite gotten the hang of keeping track of which player I am and where the ball is. I do like the added goalie feature when blocking a mega-strike... but so far when playing the computer all I have to do is get a little clear space and launch a megastrike, vioala! I win the match. I think I'll play through a cup tonight and see how I do.

What is up with the Crystal Cup Championship? Diddy Kong is so cheap. I get guys knocked off to be down 3 guys to 2? Then he redcards me and I'm down 3-1?

That is absolutely ridiculous. So I'm just going to try the whole "reset don't save" dirty move because I only want to unlock stuff.

Wow so if I'm down in the first game of the finals, and I reset it, it won't start me back up at the first match? Even if I hit the power button? Wow.

doesn't matter how you do it, really. the save & quit feature is the only way to save your progress. once you load that game, its as if that save file never existed

Is anyone randomly having controller problems with their Wii controller? It seems sometimes the nunchuk just stops functioning properly. In RE if I unplug it and plug it back in it is fine. However, I was playing strikers and my guys would not move the way I wanted to in an online game.

I had to actually take out a battery, and put it back in during the game, and then it worked. It's VERY frustrating when that happens.

Another EDIT: I'm gonna try a few more online games, but mine have been a little laggy....if that's the case I don't wanna be a burden on the tourney so I'll withdraw if that happens.

The MOST annoying thing I have found so far is playing against the hammer brother. His shot from the corners always goes in, and he can set it up by smashing you out of the way.

Your timing has to be PERFECT to smash him as he's coming off his juke move, if not, GOAL. I can't stand cheesy shit like that.

i know exactly what you mean

I usually stand right outside of their range, let them spam the deke move a few times, then perform a slide tackle to steal the ball.

i generally do that with a quick player. That way, if you miss, the animation will cause you travel out of his range

A lot of characters have moves that when performed fully powered up they are almost guaranteed to score (ghost and hammer bros come mind)..

Like KS said.. You just have to wait until they do their deke and then hammer them.. I don't think it's cheesy at all..

most of the time, you KNOW when the player is going to spam a move until you run in, get hit, and allow the free goal.

I do the waiting thing. I just feel like sometimes they can recover and do the move quicker than I can slidetackle them after waiting. Plus, I don't like that if that character takes the shot from a certain spot, it looks like 100% of the time it goes in. Shots shouldn't be automatic like that.

Also I wish this allowed you to play in teams online in the striker mode. My friends and I for the gamecube would unlock everything by hammering computer opponents out of the way to clear space up for the super shot and guaranteed goal.
