I'm in but where do you find the strikers code?

Connect to Wi-Fi by selecting the little globe on the strikers main menu. Once you've logged in your strikers code will be displayed at the top/right of the screen :)

Ok, I was right, I do suck... :D But I will still do the tourney so ya'll can feast on the bottom dweller...

(I got my butt kicked repeatedly in ranked games last night... I guess I should do more practice.).

I'm so glad to see this game getting some attention, if only because of its online features. The first game was an absolute blast but it came out at a time when a lot of people were done buying GameCube titles. I'll be picking this up as soon as I recover from my HDTV and Xbox 360 spending spree (next Friday should do it).

For those of you that have been playing this a little, I have a few questions...

1) What is the best way to perform "hits"? Is this the same as flicking the Wii remote? I can't seem to get the hang of it.

2) I've played about 10 games online and am struggling so far. Here's another move I can't quite figure out. I usually play as Yoshi and once when I played another team, someone played against me as Yoshi and did a move where Yoshi stuck his tongue out and knocked me down, but I can't figure out how to do that.

3) I thought I had read that the Wii online play was supposed to match you against similar skill levels, but the last two nights I played, I was matched against players much better than me (at least according to their record and points scored).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The manual and Strikers 101 isn't helping me much so far.

you "hit" by swinging the Wiimote. It's all about timing and placement. Hitting people into the electric fence is golden

you use the D-pad to "steal" the ball, or perform a slide tackle. There are times when its more benficial to steal as opposed to just hitting them

I'm not familiar with Yoshi, but i'm pretty sure its either one of the two mentioned above


The online rankings in this game are pretty much shit. Record really has no bearing on your ranking, considering it only goes my points. A character with 35 wins and 35 losses is actually ranked higher than someone ranked 35 wins, 0 losses. really dumb

Yep I use Yoshi and all you have to do is shake the controller when you're close to them, that's his melee attack :)

i would have guessed that, considering you have to actually pick up the ball after the attack, but again, I wasn't 100% sure

Same here as well. Very disappointed. I was hoping to get in some quality practice time this weekend.

Considering a lot of folks are still waiting on this, I've pushed the tourney back one week to start Monday, August 13.

:down: to the online ranked matches by the way. I thought they were supposed to put you up against people of similar ranks, but that never happens. I always get somebody ranked way above me who proceeds to hand me my ass. Not fun at all.

I'm not even going to step online until I go through the tutorial and win some matches against the CPU.

I went through the tutorial first, but I've only played one game against the CPU, as opposed to the 30+ I've played online. You just can't beat playing real people.

After adding people, I realized that the Mii names are often different than DVDTalk user names. Please post your Mii names when signing up to help avoid confusion.
