Player Reviews

Is there a section somewhere for player submitted reviews of games or is that a no-no around here? I only ask because I think it would be cool to be able to read reviews of games from other people in the forum. I have done some for a purely video game site I frequent and they did fairly well.

Just curious.

Sure, people post their personal reviews of games in game threads all the time.

So like I could just post my review of Gears of War and it wouldn't be locked, or would I have to seek out the official gears thread and post it in there?

i've seen both

but generally, you'd want to post that in the official thread, or the 360 thread in that example

You should absolutely post it in the GOW thread. However, why are you reviewing an almost year old game? What's the relevance?

Some people don't exactly jump on a game when it launches or even a year after it launches. Some people jump on the bandwagon way later...I am one of those people

Maybe I will post it, maybe I won't. I just wanted to know where it needed to go.

Don't let me dissuade you. Post away! Hell, people still post DVD and movie reviews years later, so VG shouldn't be any different.

I'll frequently bump a thread with my thoughts on a game after I complete it. A lot of times it generates new discussion.

I am having a little trouble finding the gears thread. I tried searching for it, but I can't do a forum section specific search so I get everything that has the word gears and war pop up.

(using advanced search you can narrow your search by forum and search within thread titles only)

When I try to post to the thread I get this message " 1. Please complete both the subject and message fields. Press the back button, correct the problem and try again.
2. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters."

Why is that?

I had no idea people used the "quick search." But that's twice this week I've seen users not find a thread they want. The QS sucks. Always use the Advanced Search and you can find what you need every time.
