I'd buy them in a heartbeat. V and VI are the only ones I've never played.

Would be nice to get an rerelease (or remake) of 1-3 on the DS too since my GBC carts are becoming obsolete quickly.
|
I have the GBC carts as well. Really exciting news.
BTW, Picross DS is released this week and it is worth every penny of its $20 price. I have completed 300 of the 330+ puzzles included and it is a huge upgrade from the old Mario Picross on the Game Boy. My only letdown was the lack of Nintendo themed puzzles. Spoiler:
Still no extra puzzle support through Wi-fi for the UK version. They offered 15 puzzles when it first came out and have yet to add a single new one despite the fact the Japanese version has a lot of puzzles from Mario Picross and Super Picross available to download. Hopefully the US release gets the support the Japanese version has in downloadable content. |
Picross DS! I'll be getting it tomorrow afternoon.

I've been playing Picross DS for the past couple hours and it's certainly addictive. Well worth the price if you enjoy puzzle games.
My only gripe is that the screen is too small for 15 by 15 puzzles. The game transposes the line requirements when zoomed in, but you still have to frequently zoom out to see all the possibilities. |

Are there any new great imports worth pickup up for the DS that are at least somewhat English friendly?
|
I just rented Hotel Dusk and Phoenix Wright for the first time, both seem like they had great potential, but ultimately not great games. I guess I liked Phoenix wright more, but still kind of disappointed.
I figured someone might say, "what, why didn't you like them?!!" Well here's why: Phoenix Wright: Liked: I loved the fast pace during the court room, loved the weird mix of crazy character's and really violent crimes, I dug the formula of just having a evidence case open and trying to figure out what you need to click. I liked that you would go scene to scene and "examine the area". Hated: That there was a lot of text, maybe it's just because I grew up with monkey island, but clicking the dialogue got real annoying after a while. Also hated that if you figured out what you needed to do next it wouldn't let you just do that, you would have to go some place, or talk to someone, or do something in order to go back and trigger what you were finding. I.E. Camera on the beach, As soon as I saw that I thought, 'great that's what I got to do next, let me click on that and see if there's a photo', but no I have to talk to the lady, ask her twenty questions, take the camera, give her back the camera, go to the police station, go back to the beach, go to the entrance, go to the camp and then I get to see the picture. Also a couple, alright most, of the cases were pretty obvious about what you should choose and there wasn't any challenge to it. But I guess the game is for kids so I shouldn't complain. My problem with hotel dusk: Too much freedom that means nothing to the actual game and way too obvious about what you were supposed to do next. Kind of reminded me of wow in that sense. Someone would talk and character name and location and you would spend most of the game walking. And the text. And I was kind of thinking since both of the games had a lot of text, I think if they make another text based adventure game they should make an option to have the text streaming, rather then pressing a button after each. "Urmm...." or "....." or "Err...." . |

Tales is pretty dirt cheap too.

For anyone else picking up Picross DS today, you might want to stop by Circuit City if you have one nearby. Even though their ad shows a $19.99 price, it rang up as $17.99 for me. Sure, it's only two bucks, but every dollar helps! It might be YMMV, but usually these surprise discounts at CC have been universal.

I just picked up a DS, Brain Age, and Phoenix Wright:Justice for All. I am a complete newbie in the DS department, so what are the top 5 absolute must-haves for this system? They can be new or old, at any price point. What MUST I experience on the DS?
|
pokemon diamond : sure, when you stop laughing, you'll realize thats at least 40-80 hours of GOOD gameplay, regardless of what you think about the show
Touchmaster : think of the games you see on the touch screen at the bar with the ability to upload scores online. very addictive Mario Kart : online and mario kart, 'nuff said Not sure what you're into, but those 3 are pretty diverse |
I don't think there are any "must haves", since people have vastly different tastes. The ones I'd go with though are:
- New Super Mario Bros - One of the Castlevania games (Dawn of Sorrow or Portrait of Ruin) - Clubhouse Games - Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap for GBA - Metroid: Zero Mission for GBA |
i preferred Metroid Fusion over Zero mission, but both were good
the castlevanias are very addictive. |

- Advance Wars DS (good luck finding it) - Kirby: Canvas Curse - Planet Puzzle League - Trauma Center: Under the Knife - Meteos |
I have Trauma center for Wii - as for everything else, keep them coming! Thanks a lot, people.

They're coming.
I'd think so too. Squenix has been good about bringing stuff over. Still, after the DQ4 PS1 debacle I'm not getting my hopes up yet. |
