New Slim PSP: Will you be getting one?

So, are you gonna get the new slimmer PSP?

- A slimmer and lighter design

- Video out: You can hook it up to your TV with composite or component video cables and play games/watch movies on your big screen

- More RAM = faster load times

- No more IR port

- Better battery life (8-10 hours)

- More responsive buttons (improved d-pad but no change to the analog stick)

- $169.00 (Bundle $199.00)

Probably not, but we'll see. I like being able to play all my original PS1 games on my PSP and that requires custom firmware, don't know how long before the new version will have that capability. Hopefully, though, it will have an improved D-Pad and Analog stick.

I'm leaning towards the Star Wars one, but I'm not sure I'd actually use it enough to make it worth the money.

Probably not. Don't like the price. They look nice... but I'm still leaning more towards a 2nd DS.

I think these are supposed to be priced at $169.99 for the PSP and $199 for the bundles (StarWars or Entertainment bundle).

I don't have a PSP (or a DS), but this new model intrigues me. I'll wait and see if the homebrewing capabilities are still possible on the new model.

I don't own one, and i'm intrigued by the new one but not sure if I want one. Just not interested in many games for it except for God of War.

Yes, I think so. I enjoyed my PSP the last time I had one, but found I used it mostly for multimedia. Sony looks to be expanding that ability through the PSN at some point this year and there are several games I want to play. The changes aren't earth shattering, but are enough to get me to considering owning one again.

I like my PSP but I don't play it enough to justify the purchase.

I need another one anyway, so yeah, bring it on. It will be $200 with a Dax game and maybe a 1gb Mem stick.

I'd need more and better games before I invest in a PSP. I have a DS, and I honestly haven't even played that in a long time.

Yes but I don't know if I'm getting the Star Wars one or the Silver one. Depends on reviews for the Star Wars game.

I'm a big PSP guy. Love mine and have about 20 games for it. I'm not so impressed with the new one, but I'll probably get it anyway since it is an improvement over the current model-- but that's mostly because I got my current (and previous) model from Costco and can return it for a full refund. If I had to eat my original cost or try to sell my current model for a fraction of it's cost, then there would be no way I'd be buying a new one based on what I've seen so far. I'll probably get the SW bundle since I like the other battlefront games and it looks pretty good in white (but sweeter in silver, no doubt).

Does the new PSP play the old PSP games? Yes? Then, no.. I will not be buying the slim one.

I already have one, but I'll probably be getting the new one. My current launch PSP has a few annoying scratches on the screen, but I'm hoping I can still get a decent amount for it on eBay and put that towards a new one. I'll probably get the Star Wars one because of the white finish. I hate how the current one shows fingerprints so clearly. I also like the promise of faster load times, since the long load times is probably my biggest beef with the current model.

I already have one and it works perfectly. No reason to upgrade.

Nope. I had a PSP and traded it in for a DS. I see no reason to go back...

Price hike? Did Nintendo hike the price when they released the DS Lite?

There isn't a price hike.

The OP's price is wrong. The $199 is for a bundle (either SW bundle or "Entertainment" bundle), the unit itself is still $169.
