Hmmm - but really, I mostly like it for the Blu-Ray as there really hasn't been much impressive stuff that I feel I NEED to have. At seriously, I like the 360 controller better so I'd chose it over the PS3.

Still quite tempting though.

Uncharted, though, is one of my more anticipated games. I grew tired of R&C.

Do you like God of War? Heavenly Sword reeks of God of War. It has even earned the unofficial tagline of "Goddess of War."

Great. I'm not getting one this month, but it is looking better now. I just need to wait for games I want to play to get released. Maybe they will pack in a game this holiday season.

Draven 07-05-07 10:24 PM

Eh, I jumped on my HD-DVD player when it dropped below $300. I'll need the PS3 below $300 to jump on that as well.

Nice to see it come down a little bit.

XBox1 Price History, according to Wikipedia:

North America

* US$299 (November 15, 2001, Launch Price) (CAD$449)
* US$199 (May 15, 2002) (CAD$299)
* US$179 (May 14, 2003) (CAD$249)
* US$149 (March 29, 2004) (CAD$199)

Very temping...Aside from Babel which is probably getting a double dip this fall, there isn't 1 free Blu-Ray movie I want to keep. I could sell them, for say $20 each, and slash the price down to under $400.

mbs 07-05-07 11:57 PM

Well, now I'll be getting a PS3 before the free disc offer expires (9/30/07). At one point I was ready to buy a 20GB, but couldn't find one. So I'm glad I waited, even if I mostly want this as a BluRay player.

Tarantino 07-06-07 12:20 AM

There's nothing out or coming out for the PS3 that would make me want one. All of the games I want are for the 360, which I already own.

= J

Sweet! I may get this sooner than expected. Im still in no rush though.

I was actually going to get a Wii soon. Anyone think Nintendo or even 360 will counter the PS3 drop?

Nintendo will definitely not drop their price. They're still the hottest item and their sales have only increased since the holidays. 360 could stand a price drop, seeing as how fast the Wii is catching up, and what this price-drop could mean for MS if they don't.

EDIT: Or maybe MS will wait a bit and see how it affects sales. As an employee at Best Buy, I can tell you for a fact we haven't sold out of PS3s since launch day, and we've had many times where despite having 2x as many 360s as PS3s, the 360s still sell out.

Ravenous 07-06-07 01:25 AM

Damn that sucks. I actually read the Wii is still hard to find. Looks like my wait will be longer than expected. :mad:

In response to Sony's PS2 price drop.

I don't know if it's good or bad that I'm interested in this much more as a BD player. :lol:

Draven 07-06-07 07:07 AM

Nintendo might take Wii Sports out of the package and sell the console for $199. That's the rumor anyway.

PixyJunket 07-06-07 07:10 AM

PS3 Price Drop = Xbox 360 Price Drop = Leroy Buys Xbox 360

That's what I guessed in my E3 predictions thread.

Nah. That's the selling point of the system for the average consumer. The fact that it is a pack in is what is driving sales. Before the launch I assumed they would drop the game at some point as well, but with all the success they've had I don't see it happening.

KurrptSenate 07-06-07 07:57 AM

well, scrap that idea :lol:

And I hope they do the same thing this time around. I want an Xbox, but not $400 want.

Michael Corvin 07-06-07 08:05 AM

:lol: I was going to post how odd it was only Circuit City was the one with the drop but I didn't want to be labeled as Sony bashing.

KurrptSenate 07-06-07 08:07 AM

that's alright, I'll do the bashing for ya ;)

They use CAGCast instead of CheapAssGamer and it's not a retailer. :lol: The site is great for gamers, but he really should consider a name change to be taken seriously and get somewhere in the industry.

True, but how many will be truly 'flying' off the shelves this week? I doubt this will have much of an impact. Zero impact on the regular consumer

I think it's impressive people actually care to get his opinion tbh. I mean, I see CAG as a way to sort "pull one over" on the industry as a whole...
