I don't have star ocean, so I can't compare them (though i think that game is more similar to Infinite Undiscovery).

Installing it to your HD makes a huge difference, though it doesn't totally eliminate slowdown or loading times.

I've been playing through this recently, and while it's still not an AAA JRPG in my mind, it is pretty fun. Early on, it's a drag when you can only form one union and you have no idea what to do, but when you can start forming multiple unions and can choose more characters, the game opens up a bit.

I still have no idea when the special powers activate... anyone know? It just seems like every once in a while I can unleash the main attack from the main character or the prince, but it doesn't seem to build up during battle like a typical JRPG.

I know that installing Lost Odyssey to the HD made a HUGE difference.

I'm playing Lost Odyssey right now (great game).

Do you have to install the whole game (all discs) or can you just do one disc at a time? I don't have a whole lot of space free but if I can do just one disc I'll clear up some space by un-installing the one game I have on there.

Yeah the great thing about Lost Odyssey is that once you finish a disc, you do not have to go back to it.
