I'm enjoying Achievement Junkie. Used to be an hour plus weekly, now it looks like its ~15 minutes daily. A little more accessible, but easy to get behind on. The hosts,Nelson and Natalie, have great personality and have a lot of fun together.

Heh yeah, I never have to hear his stupid laugh again! Damn, that podcast is so border line for me. Nearly unsubscribed a few times, but it does land at that sweet spot during the middle of the week where the other news heavy pod cast I listen to (1up yours) is still 3-4 days away. Still, the unsubscribe button is always tempting me.

CAG is usually mid-week. Why not listen to that one?

1upyours is my favorite, I really like John Davison the show is sorely lacking when he is not around. Garnett is a very good host, but Shane always comes off as a PS fanboy, dose he even own a 360.

Another vote for the coolness of Karen. She definitely fits in with the discussion moreso than some of the other 1up women. The one who's on Retronaughts isn't that bad either, but she did seem drunk or high on the Adventure Gaming episode.

I listen to "The Video Games Show" podcasts. Haven't really checked out any different ones lately.

http://www.allgames.com/radio.asp?show=videogamesshow

One host reminds me of Patrick Norton (TechTV, TWIT, etc) and the other reminds me of Andy Samberg (SNL) (Adam Sandler wannabe... even his name is close... lol )

Here is their old site that has all the older shows before the change over. http://www.thevideogamesshow.com/

I agree. Last weeks was a snooze without him.

Agree completely on Shane. That is kind of why i miss Luke, he was a nice counter to Shane personality-wise.

Did anyone else listen to the "backwards" GFW show? It took me a minute to realize what was going on as I wasn't paying that much attention when it came on my mp3 player.

Sure, it isn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was pretty cool I thought.

He's toned down the hating but all the Sony bias is still there in full force. Everytime he gives input on any PS3 game, it is the greatest game since sliced bread. It's a joke. I don't think I've ever heard him give a negative review to any game on a Sony platform.

I think the closest you get from him is, no matter how bad the game is, "despite the flaws, it's still good." Never an outright, "it's a piece of shit" which happens often to games on the 360.

If I owned a PS3 I would want to hear from someone that is somewhat more objectionable. He of all people should be given his position as a game reviewer.

On the 1up show, Garnett is starting to get on my nerves. He's that guy that takes a joke one step too far. Like they'll say something, everyone will laugh, then he'll try to keep it going and everyone just gives a polite chuckle.

Plus, he's constantly getting himself into word jams - like he starts talking, can't figure out how to end it and in desperation throws in some slang to make himself sound "hip" to the kiddies.

Just sounds like he's trying to hard.

One of the things I'll miss most about Rich on the Gamespot podcast - he knew how to host, to keep a discussion going and to keep everyone on track.

For those of you that miss Luke Smith, Jeff Green mentioned that he might be on the Legendary Thread podcast live from Blizzcon.

Yeah they said he would be on both, Jeff Green mentioned that they would have a special visit during their live Blizzcon show. John said he was stealing their thunder because he was also going to be on next weeks 1UPYours which is supposed to be done as a 'panel' but I forget what convention.

I missed them saying he'd be on 1up Yours too, so that's a pleasant surprise.

This sucks:

John Davison to Leave 1UP Network

Our fearless leader is moving on, but no need for panic.

By 1UP Staff, 08/23/2007

The rumors are true. This Friday is the last day for John Davison, 1UP's Editorial Director, previous Editor-in-Chief at OPM, previous Editor-in-Chief at EGM, fan-favorite on 1UP Yours and one of the few in the office with that weird British accent.

To end other rumors, John's new venture has absolutely, nothing to do with crafting a competitor to 1UP -- unless a family-friendly project is suddenly going to destroy the amazing content the folks at the 1UP Network do their best to deliver every day of the week. We aren't going anywhere. Plus, anyone who's listened to 1UP Yours in the past year probably knew something like this was coming. One day, everything must come to an end.

John will be utterly, incredibly, massively missed by everyone at the 1UP Network -- he's been an incredible boss and a great friend -- but just like when you lose anybody that's important, there's no choice but to move forward and that is the plan, like always. Hell, we all wish there could be one giant party for John's leaving, but a bunch of us are rocking out in Leipzig, Germany covering Games Convention 2007 for you all!

On a less depressing note, this means the entirety of the previous 1UP Yours crew will be reunited on Friday at PAX in Seattle for a nostalgia-filled edition of 1UP's flagship podcast. If you're going to be in the area, don't miss it. And if you aren't, it'll be online soon enough.

Thanks for everything, John. Good luck, and don't be a stranger.

This reminds me of techtv all over again with ziff davis. First Luke Smith Leaves, then Patrick Norton leaves, now John Davison. I was so hooked on those podcasts and now it looks like it's all over. At least there's still Jeff Green with GFW and LT, but who knows how long that will last.

The latest GFW was awesome. The whole story of being beaten on the arms with a hot metal coffee filter by a crazy train conductor was great.

Sucks about John Davidson. That will definitely hurt that podcast.

BTW, TechTV seems to be coming together piece by piece at Revision3.

Yeah that's terrible news (I read it here first). Jeff Green I think gives a decent shot in the arm to 1UP Yours (of course he's great on GFW), but John will be missed for sure.

He's the one that I can live without on any podcast. They can bring up any title on a Sony platform and it is a 4 star game to him. ANY game. He's a joke. He just reeks of someone pocketing money on the side from the man.
