I believe Garnett got hired at some PR firm in Seattle.

He's working for Amazon games.

Just down to the CAGCast, as far as gaming-casts, go.

I'm only listening to the Bombcast now. I got tired of hearing Cheapy and Shipwreck ganging up on Wombat. Had to drop it.

Sorry to see Garnett gone, but holy moly his solo effort was a snoozefest.

Re: Video game podcasts

I actually played 30-45 of Destiny with Garnett a while back. Didn't ask him about the new gig. Just stuck to trying to explain the appeal of that game.

I recommend giving GT Time from Gametrailers a listen. It's hosted by Kyle Bossman, who I find pretty insightful and funny. They're also pretty strict about sticking to an hour.

Bombcast is the absolute worst. I couldn't take any more of that meandering unknowledgable garbage.

Still listening to Cannata and Spicer's DLC podcast. Not the greatest but OK.

I still like the CAG Cast quite a bit. Probably my favorite gaming podcast I listen to, and I listen to several. It's not that these guys are great, they're just not as bad as everyone else.

Bombcast is truly hard to listen to these days. It's content consists of approximately 80% wrestling talk (amateur and pro) and 20% gaming. And Jeff Gertsmann seems like the most unlikely person to run a videogame website/podcast, because the man seems to hate everything. Even games he likes, like Mordor, he just says "yeah, it's okay." I'd take a Brad, Drew, and Vinnie podcast any day, as long as they leave Patrick as far away as possible.

I also listen to Indoor Kids, which is not as good as it used to be, and Gamers With Jobs from time to time. I need to find some new ones.

Since he hasn't been on the main podcast for some time, I thought he'd already left Giant Bomb. Didn't know he still had his own thing there.

He's always come across as a pretentious little shit, and I won't be sorry to hear even less of him now. Just wish they could bring Vinnie back full time.

Klepek was the most intelligent member of Giantbomb, and actually seemed to be interested in talking seriously about games. Losing him while gaining the overgrown fratboy Dan Ryckert is the worst thing that's happened to that crew since losing Ryan Davis.

Of all the podcasts I've ever listened to regularly, Bombcast was always the worst informed.

Terrible and wayyyyy too long.

It always surprises me how few people mention Player One Podcast when this question is asked anywhere.

And, in what's almost a sister podcast to them now, Back In My Play for retro goodness deserves recognition.

I don't think they are the worst informed. But I do agree that the shows are way to long and they tend to ramble and lose focus more than most people.

Geoff Keighley sits down with Gabe Newell and Erik Johnson from Valve to discuss the state of one of the most respected video game companies in the world. Hear Gabe and Erik discuss Steam VR, Steam Machines, Source 2, and the future direction of Valve.
