Does Rare still exist? I'd still like to see that Banjo for 360. I'd also like a Castlevania for the Wii. Using that controller as a whip....drool.

Rare released Viva Pinata late last year.

Here's a little good news/bad news for you. Rare does still exist, is a Microsoft second party developer now and, I believe, are working on Banjo-Kazooie 3. Also, I believe time and time again, the creator of Castlevania has stated he doesn't like the idea of using the Wii remote as the ship for a Castlevania game.

Sorry, still speculating.
I wish that were true. That would rock... especially if it were for the Wii.

Agreed, but I think it would almost have to come with the original as a bonus disc or unlockable (mainly because my Xbox copy isn't BC on the 360). But I think Nights should as well since I never experienced the Dreamcast.

The cost and ease of the Wii are very strong points going for it, so they'll need to release external storage in line with that. Maybe I'm overanalyzing that one..
I think you are. The average consumer, Nintendo's new market, will survive the length of this generation without ever filling up the default storage. A new storage medium will merely exist for the hardcore gamer, and even then it is still an optional purchase since you can delete/re-download at no charge. So it would essentially be a glorified memory card. Purely optional.

This game would be a welcome addition to either XBLA or VC. Also welcome: a current-gen sequel.
Rare owns the rights to Blast Corps. A 360 sequel would be nice, but I don't see it working as a full retail title at this point. First it was a niche title to begin with and second it is basically little more than a puzzle game. If they went the sequel route it would have to be a budget title to stand a chance.

Where have you been? Perfect Dark 0 was one of the most debated launch titles. Kameo, another launch title on the 360 has a decent cult following. Then you have Viva Pinata, one of the highest reviewed games on the system. Last E3 they showed of a teaser of Banjo Threeie, so that has been in the works for a year now. Hopefully they lose some of the insane amount of collecting for this one. They also recently put out Diddy Kong Racing for the DS. Rare is very much still alive.

Yeah, Blast Corps is a great game. As for the rights, I think Nintendo owns the rights to any Rare games that used existing Nintendo characters (such as the Donkey Kong Country series and Diddy Kong Racing) and Rare owns the rights to everything else (such as Blast Corps, Conker, and Killer Instinct).

I'd like to hear more about the Riddick remake for the 360

I did see in Gameinformer that they added a whole new chapter, + a new gun, but I need more screens dammit

I'd also like to see more about Manhunt 2. Granted, I was never interested in this game before the current ratings fiasco, but after playing through a portion of the original, I'm sold

They've also added multi-player. I too am looking forward to hearing more on that one and Manhunt 2.

I really hope Sony has a lot of new info on both the new Ratchet game and the new SOCOM. I also want to see a lot of gameplay videos from both Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect. Anything from SqaureEnix is always a plus too.

Let's see.. Ubisoft is hot on the Wii right now, the original has garnered quite the cult following since its release and Ancel probably has some pull with the corporate brass after King Kong and Raving Rabbids. I don't want to live in hope and die in despair, but it has a few things going for it actually happening at some point (and Ancel himself has said almost as much).

I'd like to see more of Devil May Cry 4. More GTA IV, more Soul Calibur 4, more Call of Duty 4, well that's a lot of 4s.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a $200 price drop for the PS3. Microsoft will then counter with a $100 price drop for the 360.

Who said originality was dead...

A $200 price drop?? I don't think any console has ever dropped more than $100 at once. A massive $200 price drop this soon after launch would signal significant problems in the Sony camp.

I think $200 is a stretch... unless they start charging for online to recoup some of the losses.

Sony needs to show what's coming up in the pipeline soon. People know that MGS, FF, etc. are all coming but no one knows when. What are the big titles this holiday season? I expect they'll be pushing a lot of Heavenly Sword (which looks to be 99 Nights) and Lair. And we are supposed to see Killzone 2 footage.

By the way, here's the original Killzone 2 footage:

It looks entirely possible to do nowadays. Oblivion looks better in places. Crackdown has those explosions, etc.

Microsoft needs to address hardware quality issues. I think it's costing them a lot of sales, and they know it. I expect to see a lot of talk about what's coming up through the rest of 2007. All the big titles are out or going to be out by year's end and I really want to know what's coming out in 2008.

Nintendo needs to show me games worth owning. I personally predict Nintendogs: Wii Pets for this holiday.

Actually, Heavenly Sword is very much like God of War. In fact, the unofficial nickname for the game is "Goddess of War."

Sony has a hell of a lot more to prove than Nintendo, IMO.
At least Nintendo is selling systems.

Sony better get off their butts and show me something exclusive worth getting excited over. As it stands I have a $600 PS2/Blu Ray player that is collecting dust....

The Wii just hasn't caught me yet. Zelda and super paper mario look great but nothing else has really made me want to drop the $$$ for one.

Microsoft does need to upstage the competition. In my opinion the 360 has the best next-gen library running right now and Xbox Live is perfect the way it is but there needs to be more killer apps.

Since Nintendo and Reggie blew the lid off of WiiWare already, I'd expect to hear about software for that at E3. Hopefully Nintendo themselves have something set to deliver on it. At the very least I imagine we'll hear something official about Impossible Mission.

I just hope Sony doesn't go off saying how much "better than expected" PS3 sales are.

I tried to maintain neutrality in my original post and do genuinely wish all three a good show.. but Sony, I just don't know. I'd love to think they've got nowhere to go but up but they've recently lost a large portion of their managements (likely due to the disaster of the PS3 launch), they're still running websites and podcasts with paid employees pretending to be fans (much like my suspicions of a banned forum member, heh), they're promising more games then seems likely.. it just seems like if they turn it around at E3 it'll just be shocking at this point.

Granted, I could give a fuck about Sony themselves.. so if the third parties haven't been put off by all that’s happened in the last year and have some solid products to show for their machine, I'm still willing to buy one. But, if I'm shaking my head in how they've handled everything, I can't imagine what a company that'll need to invest large sums of money into putting something on the machine is going through.

In the end, as I alluded to above, it's 100% all about the games, so here's top hoping!

One week away.

Microsoft is next Tuesday. Nintendo and then Sony are Wednesday.
