well IGN isn't the only one out there. 1UP who is usually really tough gave it a 9/10.

i usually trust them more anyway. the multiplayer looks amazing. so excited.

Since my 360 is a useless brick that will only flash 3 red lights at me when I turn on the power, I'm getting this for the PS3. Actually, after getting the 3 lights of death, I'll likely be getting all multi-console games for the PS3 from now on.

Yeah, if you actually watch their video review (or read it), they don't really bash it at all, saying that it's a really solid game, with a tacked-on multi-player. It's just not an absolute classic or as great as Riddick was (which very few games are).

Just got back from CC. They were unloading the truck right at 2 so the girl had to go find the game from the boxes. :(

Yep.

I'm listening to EGM live right now and they are saying it can be beaten in one sitting. :( Saying to rent, not buy. That's no good.

Hopefully the achievements offer some re playability if that is the case.

Okay, this game rocks. I'm only an hour or so in, but I'm already loving it. It definitely feels like a successor to Riddick, which is a good thing, IMO.

I'm about an hour or so in as well. So far, I too an enjoying the game. The graphics and sound are nice. The controls and camera feel solid. The darkness powers are a nice touch.

I am, however, stuck at one part. Maybe someone who is a bit further in can help me.

Spoiler:

I left the restaurant after taking with the Butcher. I am supposed to go to another location that is near by. In the street, there is a bunch of police officers that I can kill. There is also a helicopter that I cannot seem to figure out how to either take down or get by without getting killed.

Any hints or ideas? I've tried 2 or 3 times to get past that part and had to put the game down as it was late and I needed to get to bed.

Check the maps on the subway info stations. You need to sneak up a street and into a back alley to get into a pool hall.

i got the game after work yesterday evening. I played it for probably 3 hours last night. I really like the game, but I am very frustrated where I am at right now.

Here is where I am:

I made it to the part after Jenny is killed and you commit suicide(which is an awesome twist) where you are either in Hell or an alternate reality during WW2. Sounds great, but I am just frustrated with it right now. It is just very difficult to navigate and the Nazis will kill you quick so you don't have time to explore. I just hope this part of the game doesn't last long -- I enjoy being in the city. I have never been a big fan of dream sequences or alternate reality sequences, Max Payne 1's dream sequences aggravated me so much I quit playing the game

Yup, albeit it's on a tiny little screen in the middle of the room, but you can make it out alright, and the sound is fine. But I only kept it on for about half an hour while I did stuff around the house - I wasn't willing to leave my 360 on for over 2 hours, unplayed just to get the achievement.

Does this game give anyone else a freakin massive headache? Most FPS's never give me one, but after like 5min with Darkness my head is killing me. I think it's the jerkyness or something....is there maybe a 'no-headache' setting that I've missed?

So I got to play this last night finally. DId anyone else waste a ton of time watching TV in the subway? I watched a Gabby cartoon, Popeye and an episode of Flash Gordon. I considered watching to kill a mockingbird, but felt like playing the game.

So far, I'm loving this game. It's methodical, the story is good so far, the cutscenes with Jackie talking during loading are great. My one nitpick is weapon selection - i'm having a tough time with it for some reason.

Which acheivement do you get? The ROmantic? I got that after sitting on the couch and making out with Jenny after trying to tell her those three words - then I got up and left!

I don't know if it's listed, or what it would be called, I just read somewhere that you get one if you stay seated for the duration of the whole movie - I could be wrong though.

I am loving the game, it's so interactive and there is so much to see and do. my stepdad and I play it and reload levels to try and do things differently to see what happens.

I haven't been this hooked on a game since...The Chronicles of Riddick. ;)

Actually, I've been just as hooked on Oblivion, Ar Tonelico, and Guitar Hero II. But the game still rocks!

I dialed a phone number and I was killed for no reason all of sudden. I tried the number again after it reloaded my game.....and somehow I survived. What an odd glitch.

Has everyone gotten the 2 Darkling costumes that came from buying the game in a certain store. Essentially they give you a phone number to call and it unlocks a costume. 1 for buying it from Gamestop and one for buying it from some European retailer - but you can find the numbers to call online (or i can post them here). The European retailer call is at least kind of funny. The Gamestop one is lame. The costumes are neat though, one give the berserker a jersey and baseball bat and the other gives him a knit cap, pants, and a golf club. :lol:
