That doesn't mean it is true.

Some folks had luck with the Psyclone PSC01 on avsforum, some didn't.

I have a Joytech 240c that ghosts over component at anything higher than 480p. It isn't really noticeable on my 37" but sticks out on the projector. Someone on avsforum knows how to fix them - he said they used the wrong circuit or something.

I picked up the Psyclone off ebay for cheap to try it out. Loved the interface, everything seemed to work fine. Rewired the whole cabinet. Only to find out that on bright white scenes it would cause my 37" Olevia to lose sync. The Wii menu drove it crazy. Holds signal to the projector fine. I think it was throwing a signal with brightness out of spec. It seems to work OK with some displays and get the out of range/sync problem with others.

I had a Samsung HD tuner once that did the exact same thing with my Infocus X1. Infocus said it was throwing an out of spec signal but provided firmware that dealt with it anyway.

I got so tired of messing with these I just upgraded receivers to something with more inputs and transcoding/upconversion to HDMI out (Onkyo TX-SR605). I'm working on installing it over the next few days. The only 100% effective component video switcher I found was the Impact Acoustics 3-play - but only 3 component video/optical ports, no s-vid/composite/etc.

I almost bought the Audio Authority 1154a. It switches ports automatically which would be pretty cool. About $200 though :(

It's cheaper at Amazon.com. Passes 1080i and 720p without signal loss (no 1080p, though). Has a remote for switching. Great product for a relatively low price.

I put the $200 towards a new Onkyo TX-SR605 instead (3 component inputs, 2 HDMI, analog-> HDMI upconversion). That's one more component input than I had and 2 HDMI splitting.

It works for now. I've still got the Impact Acoustics switcher if I run low some years from now.

I have that Impact Acoustics one, but I only use it for Xbox classic, Wii, and PS2. It seemed to work good with those.

I bought a 4x1 HDMI switch from Monoprice, and so far I don't seem to have any problems with it. I use that one for cable, DVD, and Xbox 360 Elite.

Damn these TVs for not having enough inputs.

Oops, I totally forgot about this thread.

In my experience, it handles all high-definition content up to 1080i with no problems. I have never had any issues with my Wii.

I do think older models of this selector have had problems in the past that have since been corrected. Kind of tacky that these older models weren't discontinued and a new SKU given to an updated model if that's what has happened, but all I can tell you is what I've encountered. :)
