tenchu
so this game is coming out for the 360 soon.
I've never played any of the games in the series.
what type of game is it? stealth? or more action/adventure?
Does the game have a good reputation?

The demo has been on the Japanese marketplace since last year. I haven't heard anything about the US version.
Tenchu is a stealth game, but it is not the type where if you are found you automatically lose. You can fight back. I always liked Tenchu because it portrays ninjas more realistically than the Hollywood-ized ninjas. Ninjas were stealthy assassins that sneak around, not running around doing huge combos in the middle of the street like Ryu in Ninja Gaiden.

Mostly stealth, though you do have fighting skills. From what I've heard of the new one, it doesn't really advance the gameplay that much from earlier entries. Earlier tenchus were a lot of grappling hook onto roofs, sneaking around, and stealth killing guards.

I tried the demo the other day. Plays exactly like the previous games and the graphics aren't anything special. If you enjoyed the other ones, I'm sure you'll like this one too. I won't be picking it up simply because I felt like I had already played it before just from the demo level.

While I did enjoy Tenchu on the PS1 and the first PS2 Tenchu game, after playing the demo of Tenchu 360, I am disappointed. I have to say the gameplay, controls, and graphics have not evolved at all. It really is not as fun as it was was 6-8 years ago. This game will be for hardcore fans of the series only IMO.

Well, that's a bit disappointing. I was hoping for a good high def ninja game. Fingers crossed for a ninja gaiden game on the 360.
As of right now, gamerankings has it scored at 69% coming from 6 reviews.

I wasn't too impressed by the demo. The graphics weren't that good but the gameplay was even worse.
Mind you I was playing the Japanese demo so I had no idea what was going on.

Gamespot gave it a 4.9. I guess the full game is as bad as the demo.
