Hands down Forza 2 is the best simulator driving hame on any console ever
Yes sacifices have been made graphics wise, but what game is perfect? Everyone should buy Forza is they remotely like car games. Here you have a game that has core gameplay at it's heart, from professionals who try to to do it without driving aids, to beginners who need some, it's the way to constantly refine car set up, and drive with many technical details in mind, and you can do it online, in terms of long lasting playability, this game will go on and on.
I still play the original Forza and PGR2 on the xbox because to date, their gameplay has been better then any car games since, until Forza 2 now, and upcoming PGR4, both which have time spent on gameplay.

I just bought the game, and there was no manual in the case. Does this game come with no manual, or did I get a bum unit?
I wasn't sure, maybe games were coming with-out manuals, like DVDs with-out inserts.

And I absolutely *LOVE* the Auction House. I made my first purchases from there last night, and am dinking around with the Livery Editor to make some custom paintjobs for myself, and possibly to sell.

I have to agree about the auction house. Helped me get some cars that were previously unlocked, as well as saved me a few 100,000 credits
As far as the online racing is concerned, the tournaments require you to basically use the exact car everyone else is, which I feel detracts a bit from it. If you race against others in a regular match, no credits are rewarded.
That's not a bad thing, but the fact that it takes 20 minutes just find someone that is actually racing, as opposed to screwing off, is a bit of a frustrating challenge

For online racing, you definately get credits if you pick Career Race or whatnot. I did it a few times today, and got several thousand credits per race (and I only placed 4th). I didn't have anyone screwing around, really. I mean, accidents happen and you or someone else might get accidentally taken out, but it was never malicious. I didn't see anyone driving the wrong way or intentionally trying to fuck over other players.
Send me a friend request sometime and I'll race with ya. Maybe if there are enough DVDTalkers playing, maybe we can get together a few full races.

sounds good. My Gamertag is the same name I use here, Kurrptsenate
I'm not sure exactly what mode I tried, but it didn't sound like the one you chose. It was a regular custom match I think.

I then went to Custom and the only thing I looked for special was the car class (I like driving the B and A class cars), and English. I found several games and no one was really screwing off. I did get booted from one, as I kept blocking the host's car when he was trying to pass me. As he pulled forward a little bit, I nicked his car and we both went flying. He wasn't too apreciative. Other than that, it was good times though.

Has anybody bought a unicorn car yet? I can't because I don't have the gold membership. I really want the 35th Camaro.
I was wondering if in the (near) future, somebody could buy on and I can use a 48hr code to get it from you.
I don't have a lot of money right now, since I have only had time to finishe the first set of races. If some rich racers want to donate the car to me (
) let me know.

give me some details. I could probably manage to pick that up for ya...
keep in mind, though, I just wasted/spent 400k on my pagani, leaving me with 300 some credits. I did win another 25k, but that went immediately into the pagani

Thanks, but there is not a huge rush.
It is listed as Camaro 35th Ann, if you go to the auction house, click on models and hit 'c' on your keyboard, it is the car that comes up.

There is no other colors, and nothing special. Currently the 5 cars are ranging from 300k to 500k, but I don't know how much they have been ending at.

alright well, start saving up your pennies/credits and I'll do the same. My friend that is really into the game will probably be spending the weekend at my house, again, and he's basically the money-making 'bitch', for a lack of a better term

I have been doing training all week, so I have only played about 2 times since I got the game, thus I only have like 30k.
So it will be some time before I get into the real money, and thus the no rush aspect.
I need me a money-maker!
Maybe I can get my wife to start endurance races for me to make some cash while I am at work!

best money maker?
350 hp race, buy either a porche boxster (fastest under 350), or use a rx7 like my buddy
play the nissan track, looks like a damn nascar track
turn up the difficulty, turn off ABS brakes and all the helpers, etc
one race, with a car with decent rarity nets about 15-16k, and the race takes about 3-4 minutes

These unicorn cars have been known to get up to over 1.5M in price, so you'd better be doing a lot of online tournaments or a bunch of kickasss liveries to get that much dough! On the other hand, I don't think they're that cool. I looked on the Forza forums, and it seems they put up five copies of each car a day, so therefore I wouldn't really consider it a unicorn, as there are more than one.
