I forgot about the wall mines with the laser beams. I used to love planting them just around a corner. Then I'd hear people explode. (DUKE LAN parties were awesome except you had to turn on IPX/SPX networking protocol on all the pcs.)

I love the Ratchet and Clank weapons, like the Ryno (Rip Ya a New One) and the rocket launcher with the built-in camera.

Lost Planet Weapons:

Disc grenades..can be thrown far like frisbees, can stick to enemies, delayed explosions

Sticky Grenades..can be tossed at enemies, and they stick like Halo plasmas

Energy Gun..shots track enemies and fully powered up shots can give instant kills. Fully powered up shots can also force enemies out of Mech Vehicles.

Plasma Grenades...freezes enemy while shocking him..or her ..and can detonate enemy weapons causing self-detonations if timed right.

Gears of War:

The Locust machine gun...carries more shots, is easier to fire in a steady manner, and the melee is faster than the chainsaw on the Gears' gun. But I'm sure I'm in the minority on this one.

OR you could shoot them like grenades.

The flak cannon was basically either a shotgun or a flag grenade launcher.

While it made the game really easy, the Crissagrim in Symphony Of The Night was badass.

Laser trip mines from Duke3D is my all time favorite. Used to love sticking them at standing height behind hidden/fake walls. Then get someone chasing you and just as you go thru the wall, crouch and go under the laser....the person chasing you comes thru the wall running and hits the mine. Drop a few pipe bombs under the trip mine for added fun!

Loved the shrink ray too. People just hated being shrunk and getting stepped on!

The hours on Kali I spent with this game...fun times!

More love here for Duke's trip mines.

More love here for anything sniper in anything UT (I also enjoy vehicle race maps in UT2K4. Put me on the Hellbender's twin cannon and let me clear the track).

More love here for MA discing in Tribes2 (I also enjoy shocklancing heavies while on midfield D, as well as roadkilling in a tank). Anybody here still play? I'm to be found about once a week playing over at EWO (www.elitewarriorsonline.com) under the handle VillageIdiotBot.

I'm always a big fan of chain saws, probably due to my love for the Evil Dead film series. Best of all, you never run out of ammo!

It says something about American culture when we play games and always worry about not wasting bullets for our guns, but we all use magical chain saws that never seem to run out of gas.

Pretty much every weapon in Unreal Tournament for me. Even after months and months of playing 2k3 online I'd still have fun running around killing people with the translocator.

The sheep from worms
The MG 42 from Half-life: DOD
and the colt in Counter-strike
I also enjoyed playing with the railgun in Perfect dark. It was always fun to hide in a corner and snipe all day.

I always liked the rocket launcher from Half-Life. It was great watching people trying to run away from the red targeting dot.

Soul Calibur: Nightmare's version of Soul Blade with the eye that tracks who you are fighting.

Half Life: The alien snark gun thingy. You know that thing that let out those little monsters that crawl over the ground to attack whoever you want.

Jedi Knight Dark Forces: Light Saber. Now who doesn't like a nice light saber.

Duke Nukem: Shrink Ray

Doom: chainsaw

Yup, the Hammerburst. It's awesome and vastly underrated.
