It's completely subjective
making blaring remarks about the motivation others had when purchasing the game just makes you look like a conceded fool |

I bought the game because I wanted to. I liked the demo and wanted something new.. The Halo beta had ZERO ZERO to do with me purchasing it. I actually don't even like Halo. Tried to get into both 1 and 2 and thought they both sucked. This game is EASILY in my top 5 games so far for the 360.. I guess I just haven't woken up yet to realize that it's garbage. Oh.. And like a give two shiites if the game sells a million copies or not.. That doesn't really have any influence on me liking the game. But I guess it's another one of those "gameshop jokes". -ha! Same here, I got it because I played the demo and liked it. I really don't care what other people think, if I like something, I will buy it. But I guess liking a game mmconhea hates, it's just "laughable" |
considering this is on his lists of games to NOT buy
i'd like to see the other games on that list. I probably have a few others  |
Crackdown is one of my favorite 360 games so far. The fact that it's so open-ended, and that it's fun to just mess around without pursuing any particular goal makes it a lot of fun. I enjoy the core gameplay, but it's a true sandbox game, so you can make up your own gametypes and goals.

I myself have laughed at the people trying to convince themselves that this game is anything more than hype from MS combined with Hype for Halo 3. I played the demo extensively, trying to figure out if there was anything more then what it appeared to be... Nope. I’m 99% sure the reviewers for the big sites that rated this game were paid, pampered or pleasured. The reviews are highly critical, and point out issues that would otherwise destroy a game review for other titles, yet then 9s and 10s are dished out right next to the banners and full page spreads of ads for crackdown. MS paid big for the critical acclaim. Look at the smaller, independent reviews and you have a better idea that this is just a poorly executed GTA knock-off with only shooting people and driving to shoot people as your activities. They actually took the genre backwards. It’s garbage and people are waking up to realize it, and the Halo3 beta is the reason it sold what it did (even so it hasn’t broken a million yet -ha!) It will flood ebay and used game stores, watch and see. One of the podcasters mentioned a while back that they don't review a game until they have finished it. Period. And I basically agree. Unless you do you can't properly do justice to the game. Not only did you not finish the game but you never played it, basing your opinion on a demo which may be buggy, laggy and not representative of the final product. So basically you have it backwards as to who needs to "wake up." The game is very polished EXCEPT for the narrator which definitely needs work. Even at that, the game isn't broken and it makes for some great laughs. I had WAY more fun in Crackdown than GTA. To each their own. BTW, I got in on one of the Halo 3 code offers. I bought Crackdown for Crackdown, and currently playing it more than the beta thanks to the new DLC. |
I bought the premium content for the game so if those people who like it and keep it want to play some time let me know. I really enjoyed the game. It's shallow but it's the superhero version of GTA without all the difficult missions. I am looking forward to GTA IV but it'll be hard to play the game and have to walk around buildings. *sigh* What a hassle that will be.

I like the game, but I haven't been playing it (because of H3 & GH2) and I feel that it won't get too much more of my attention. I downloaded the DLC but haven't had a chance to play any of it yet.

Funny, DR's Demo was cool but I haven't played the game since last year. I guess that means...hold it...here it comes...Different folks like different things and that's ok. Who knows, I might give it another chance when it's under $20. |

I really disliked the demo for Crackdown, but they fixed all the issues in the demo for the retail game... It is currently one of my most played games. I just recently bought it after renting it for awhile a couple months prior. Lost Planet, liked the demo, but just couldn't get into the retail game... rented it... played it once and sent it back... course I still had it in my Gamefly queue and I now have it again to give it another go.... Here I come ladies.... :eyebrow: |

Dammit, when do I get my check from Microsoft for liking Crackdown? Or am I just pretending to like Crackdown? Either way, I want my money. I had certain expectations when I signed up for this conspiracy.
|
I rented the game when it came out, it certainly is a blast. Will pick it up when it drops in price, hopefully in late June ;).
The funny thing being, is despite all the initial hype of it being a GTA or hell Saint's Row rip off, it's just a whole hell of a lot more fun than either. |
Pretty clear here...you either love this game, or hate it. :)

It is under Crackdown though. 911MB.
|
I bought the game FOR the Halo 3 Beta, and I like the game BETTER than the Halo 3 beta now.
|
I played the demo, and though I didn't care for it enough to go run out and pay $60 for it, I really hope all the copies are dumbed on eBay after the beta ends because I would pick it up if I can get a great price on it.
I had no interest in the Halo 3 beta since I don't game online |
And I will gladly pick up a copy of Crackdown from someone who is willing to ditch theirs. :)
|
Yeah if it's going to flood Ebay and all the other game shops I will be picking one up for cheap for sure. I rented it about a week ago and it was a blast, one of the top 360 games I've played so far.

I enjoy Crackdown also, but I get annoyed sometimes with it. I'm sure once I finish off all the bosses, I will trade it away...as I don't really keep all my games.
|
Already Crackdown is closing on ebay sub $30. That's half price for a brand new copy.
The halo 3 beta still has some days left too. If they were smart, they'd release premium content prior to the beta turning off. But like I stated before this overrated game has no staying power. It'll draw you in, but really it has no substance. Orb collecting? are we playing atari2600 here? As far as jokes at the local EB, they have a box they keep all the new Crackdown copies in. The box is labeled: HALO 3 Beta Boot Disks. rotfl |
