Welcome to the party...games like this are rare.

Agreed. I must admit that I'm kinda nervous about RE 5 on the 360 because I've been spoiled but the RE4's Wii controls.

It would take a heck of a game to make me go back to aiming with an analog stick...I'd rather just wait till this generation's games are ported to the Wii2. ;)

i've basically avoided any console shooters/FPS games due to my refusal of using a gamepad. the wii control scheme is the only thing that *cough* may *cough* actually be better than mouse & keyboard....

ah, i digress!

Does anyone know if you need the classic controller to play this?

No.

Default controls are wiimote & nunchuk. You can also use the classic controller if you prefer that scheme. Undocumented, but also usable: Gamecube controller.

Wiimote and nunchuck.
Stick on chuck to move, B button on wiimote to ready weapon, point wiimote to aim, A to fire. (I think).

Just picked this up the other day. Haven't gotten much of a chance to play yet but I'm loving what little I've played.

Don't get too frustrated at the village...it's probably the hardest part of the whole game...just due to lack of ammo.

...or had you played previously on Gamecube or PS2?

Nope, this is my first crack at it. The village is frustrating but I've only tried it by running around wildly and attacking when I can, I haven't ducked into any of the buildings yet. I can only hope there's more ammo in there!

There is ammo in some of the houses. There is even a shotgun in one of them.

You can sneak around for a bit before, collecting ammo before you get spotted. And my favorite spot for fending off the hordes in on one of the rooftops where you can keep all of the enemies in front of you.

When surrounded shoot them in the legs...

I beat the Assignment Ada sub-game, and it told me I could start a new game from the Ada cleared game file to get a new weapon. However, when I went to "load game" after that, there's no new cleared game...

What am I missing?

I just started that one but I decided to finish my 2nd run on the main game. Anyway, did you "Save" before you exited? Did you skip that screen?

chess 10-28-07 11:04 AM

The new weapon isn't that useful anyway...very powerful, but a little too sci-fi for the feel of the game.

I guess I didn't see the option to save...It asked me to watch the ending again, I said "no", and then the screen about the chicago typewriter appeared.

Did I somehow skip a screen?

LOL I don't want to play it again, I died 20 times!

CKMorpheus 10-28-07 12:34 PM

I finally beat this after putting off the last fifteen minutes for over two months. I gave the Separate Ways mini-game a shot but so far it's exactly the same at the original game, but with Ada... Is Assignment Ada something different? How do I get it?

Toad 10-28-07 01:31 PM

I THINK it's different. It's just a little minigame; no new locations or anything. But it's a little harder.

ckw4b 05-30-08 01:11 PM

I finally found a Wii at my local Target so I picked up this game as well to test out the new controls. It was a bit frustrating at first since I'm used to the GC controls, but I'm going to practice today.

A quick question though. Does anyone know if you can use the Wii Zapper with this game? If so, I may go pick one up.

steebo777 06-03-08 10:16 AM

No you can not use the WiiZapper with RE4.
