I don't know exactlly how far you are compared to me but I'm at where you first get the "ATV four-wheeler" and have to take down the large spider like vehicle with rockets.

That's where we're at as well...that monster is annoying. Is it fairly straightforward - take out a leg, get in the back, then fight your way through? I've made it into the back a couple times, but died right away both times.

I think his bundle already came with a wired headset... can you now use two headsets playing on one console? i thought that you couldn't do that on Halo 2... maybe only if you're sharing a LIVE account.

Anyway, the CC deal is only good this week, but is a good deal (they also have the guidebook, which is pretty nice, for 14.99, pricematch at BB if you want to avoid CC).

Also had a bunch of problems adding/viewing friends on LIVE... seemed to work ok from within Halo, not so much from the dashboard. I couldn't tell if it was just delayed, since I turned the box off every time, afraid that it was dying on me. Hopefully it's just a LIVE problem because of the massive amounts of Halo3 traffic, and not the signs of my launch console finally giving out.

Question on solo campaign: Can you not change the difficulty setting without starting over?

As a newbie (n00b) to the Halo DVD Talk scene, I can say that King of the Hill with Rockets is awesome.

Nah, we didn't get to start the second level. I think the plan is to do that tonight.

Ugh, Rocket the Hill on Midship was in my top two least favorite gametypes ever.

Racing Rockets is getting old quickly for me, too. It's fun for the first couple of times, but it's so repetitive.

Not only do you have to start over, but you have to delete your current save-file form the hard-drive through the dashboard. Shoddy design, if you ask me.

Is there anyway to connect custom matches to the servers? When you go into matchmaking it just puts random games up. How do you choose exactly what game you want to play? For example I've been wanting to play King of the Mountain, I don't know where it's located. Do I just have to wait for it to just randomly show up?

Also, if anyone can tell me if there's a way to change my NAT settings to Open without buying a new router, I'd appreciate it. :D

WOW, I just played V.I.P. on Sandtrap & that was fun as Hell! I wasn't really into BTB on H2 but I like what I see on there now. Territories on the new Zanzibar was fun as well.

Zombies ("Infected") is pretty awesome as well.

I find it funny the discovery channel live action promo is 100 times better than any of the action in the halo 3 first player.

Funny you mention that. Major Nelson covered that on this weeks podcast. I couldn't tell you the steps, there were quite a few, but head to majornelson.com for more info. There's probably a link and if not, just listen to the podcast.

The Major and E discussed routers for a bit on it. E said there is one nasty router out there that causes problems for everyone playing, not just the person with the router. So they find these people and prevent them from getting into matches. Sounds harsh, but reasonable to me. He didn't say what router it was, which I think would have been more helpful than outright, essentially, banning them.

That's a good thing. It could be worse (see starship troopers).

I didn't say it was a bad thing. I loves me some BSG. It reminds me of the flippin awesome New Caprica battle.

I might be in the minority, but they did a piss poor job upgrading the game graphically. I hardly see a difference between this and Halo 2. I really wished they could have spent a little more time makin it a little more purdy.

Here's who was online with Halo3 last night, even with over 500K people on, looks like there's only one dude in South Africa and just a couple in South America.
