Why no word on a New Animal Crossing? (For Wii!)

Animal Crossing for the cube was released like what, 2002 or 2003? Then we got a rehashed version for the DS and im still waiting for an anouncement for a New console versoin. Whats taking them so long? Its not like Animal Crossing aint popular.
It will be great on the Wii, possibly with features that involve the Wii remote, like fishing, mini-games like baseball maybe. Its just crazy if you ask me.....

I think it was crazy when they didn't release an Animal Crossing 2 for the Gamecube and instead waited for the DS.

I thought that they were going to change it to "Mii Crossing" and integrate the Miis into it.

The rumor I heard was that you could accessories and cloth your Mii in the game, and those clothes and accessories would carry over to other supported games that used Miis.

But who knows? This has been a long time in coming. I hope that it doesn't turn out to be a simple port of the last game with "waggle" added for fishing.

I completely disagree! The DS allowing you to visit other people over the WiFi certainly added an additional level to this game that made it so much more fun that the original. WiFi games rock.

Not sure I'd get this on the Wii though - I liked the portability of the DS version. Though I could just leave my town open all day by leaving my Wii on and online... hmm. If they could combine the Wii with a DS version over the WiFi, that could rock!

I just hope that they bring back the holidays. I really missed celebrating all the real holidays for crap holidays like la la day or flea market day. The missing holidays really affected the replayability of the game. Especially since you could visit people through WiFi.

Unless your Wii has a red light when you turn it off, it is on and online all day.
