I have an ok net connection, but at the same time i don't want to have to wait a long time downloading. Any info is appreciated.

I've had the monthly $5.99 XBOX Live subscription for the original XBOX for a little while now and out of nowhere they changed my plan to a yearly GOLD subscription. I called CS and they said they had no idea how that happened and they would fix it and refund me the difference at my original plan price of $5.99. I just checked my billing online and it says I am now on the monthly GOLD plan for $7.99. It is my understanding that the GOLD membership is for the XBOX 360 and not the original XBOX. I don't have a 360 and don't want to pay the 360 price. So I guess my question is did they just up the price of xbox live from $5.99 to $7.99 for both consoles and call it "GOLD" (and move me from monthly to yearly when they upped the prices) or are there still separate live plans for the original and 360? I'm only going to be using XBOX Live for a few more months so either way I wouldn't want a yearly subscription so I don't want any replies with "the yearly is cheaper than you were paying anyway."
I'd just like to know a little bit more about this before I call them back.
