Probably not. Looks like you're going to have to get a new one. Sorry.

Because i was running late for work and there is a target by the place i work at. Luckily they resealed the ps3 and put it back on the shelf and I got my BD remote back. I guess i got lucky they didn't ship it back to sony.

And they're selling it to someone else without a remote?

Not a controller, the Blu-ray remote control. It's not the same thing as the Sixaxis.

Let's get back to this.

First post says it was shipped back to Sony. Second post says it was not.

It happens all the time. I am not a bit surprised. I have bought stuff from both Target and Wal-mart that when I opened them up, they were clearly not brand new. One time, I bought a DVD player that had someone's DVD still in the drive. They forgot to take it out I suppose. Another time, I bought a video game, and the instruction booklet had someone's handwritten cheat codes and notes.

I went in the morning before work and the lady at the customer service told me it shipped back to sony and there is nothing she can do about it. She went in the back and apparantly she didn't see any ps3 so she told me they sent it back. I went back after work to the same lady who helped me exchange my ps3 and she told me to hold up. She called electronic department and apparantly it was back in the case locked up. I feel bad for the person who is going to purchase this defective ps3. It's wrong for target not marking it as an open box or what not.

That could be potential disaster for the new owner trying to get a warranty claim out of Sony. I'm sure it will be OK if the new customer has a receipt, but if they don't keep it I can see Sony saying 'you brought that months ago...the warranty period has passed.'

Call me gullible but I for one am surprised of this behavior from Target. I would expect it out of a Wal-Mart of Kmart but not a Target. Even Best Buy probably would mark it as an open box item and give some kind of discount. Hell, they don't even have to give a discount as long as they let the customer know it was a previously opened item.

It should be illegal.
