Damn it, really? I happened to be by a CC today, stopped in, and didn't see the game.

I started playing around 7:30 and got sucked in for a good 2.5 hours. That's saying a lot since I usually don't play for more than an hour or so in one sitting. Got up to Chapter 2-2 and decided to take a break. Yeah, the opening is a little wordy but it didn't bother me much. Once you get to the real start of the game (Chapter 1-1), it's really enjoyable. The 2D/3D flip feature is obviously the highlight, but collecting the Pixl characters to get new abilities seems like it will add a lot of variety to the gameplay. The localization is great so far, which fits in with the other Paper Mario games. It's too early to say much more than that, but it's definitely off to a strong start.

Update: I picked up the game earlier tonight and man is this game AWESOME. The gameplay is just fun as hell. Switching btw the 2D and the 3D environment is natural and fun. It adds a whole new element. The controls are great and simple to learn. The game itself is funny. I'm only about 2 hrs into the game but so far I'm loving it.

I spent about 2 hours playing the game and my only complaint is having to aim the Wiimote at the TV now and then to highlight things. Thankfully I haven't had to do it much yet. The rest of the game is great and I think my wife and I will get lots out of this purchase.

I just finished Chapter 1 and I like it a lot. I actually thought the puzzles were tougher than expected (due to the reviews). Nothing too hard, but definately caused me to think for a few mins on a couple. I actually really like the pointing the wii-mote feature. It does slow down the game a bit, but I don't mind.

The intro is long and you can't skip it, but you can just keeping pressing the 2 button to go through it faster without reading.

I also picked it up today. My Target didn't have any, or a place holder for it, and my Circuit City had 3 around 7:00. FYE had a bunch too.

I didn't see the game either, so I asked a worker about it, in hopes of getting a $20 gift card, and she said there was a box full of the game at the cash register. I guess they just decided not to put it on the shelf.

Started the game pretty late, so we didn't have much time to play. We only passed Stage 1-1, but so far we're liking it.

Just discovered $43 of Gamestop credit in my wallet, so I'll definitely pick this up in a few wks.. or whenever it's in stock. Gotta work on Zelda awhile...

I'm assuming Nintendo is just cranking them out, as my local CC and BB both had tons of copies.

Anywho, it's a blast so far. I have to admit, once I got Peach and didn't have to worry about dimension flipping, it was like a breath of fresh air. That said, the 2d/3d mechanic is fun, just nerve-racking for the perfectionist gamer.

I'll get this title when I get a Wii (or rather when I can find one ).

But I'm going to make myself finish The Thousand Year Door first.

Mine didn't seem to, but it mentioned it in the manual that it might... I'm wonder if it's because I keep my Wiiconnect24 on.

I've never played the Paper Mario Series, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Mario and Luigi games on the GBA and DS, and this seems in the same vein. I'm tempted to pick this up solely because of the drought of good games on Wii.

Maybe I'll grab the GC Paper Mario and Play through that cheap first.

It didn't say. I loaded the disk for the first time and it just started doing an update. It was quick and probably just a patch or something to get it to work for the Wii.

I just have to say that Nintendo is really hitting this game out of the park. Much to my surprise both Circuit City and Best Buy had plenty of games out for sale, when in the past it takes them much longer to get games. Sure I didn't get that $20 gift card from Circuit City but I did get a great game. Just like some of the post before me, I instantly got hooked on the game for around 2 hours. It is a fun and cute game.

I really liked the turn based style of the previous ones, but the new gameplay is so revolutionary and fun that it doesn't really matter.

Damn. I was hoping cduniverse would pull through today. Didn't happen. Oh well, hopefully it will be in my hands by this weekend.
