Wow, I was already excited as hell about this...can't wait.

I love the idea of random setlists and not knowing what songs are coming up. One of my favorite things about GH2 was before an encore, I didn't know what song was next. Made it more interesting.

So is the World Tour mode ONLY for multiplayer? And can it be done with 2, 3, or 4 people? And maybe most importantly, can it be played through online (unlike GH3 )?
Man...it seriously had better not only be for multiplayer. That'll make me decide not to buy it.

Well looking at the achievement list, World Tour might be for MP only, but there'll surely be some sort of career mode for each individual instrument to play solo offline.

Still enough to not make me buy it, honestly. World Tour sounds way too badass to not be single player.
Here's the achievement again, from IGN, broken down by play type - http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/828/828355p1.html

And looking at the track list so far, I've gotta believe there are a few big songs still unannounced. There's no Freebird or anything of that caliber as a "rock anthem" yet. Sure, there are some damn good classic songs, like Gimme Shelter and Won't Get Fooled Again, but I still think they'd got some bigger ones that haven't yet been announced.
I doubt world tour is MP only, but even if it is, there are solo modes for each instrument (sans bass) to run through all the songs. And if world tour is MP only, then there's plenty of people on here that would want to set up a band.

I've got a band set up locally, but I can spotlight in two bands like a real fuckin' rock star! Vocals or guitar will probably be my strong points, but I'm aching to give the drumming a shot.

EDIT: After reading another forum which referenced back to the Rock Band forums, it seems that World Tour is 2+ people, but the solo careers are available for one player. Don't know how detailed the solo career is, but it probably gives lots of options like World Tour as well.

Yep, really won't bother me if it's MP only, since it seems the solo mode for guitar, drums, vocals, and bass are at least as deep as GH3's solo mode. Throw world tour in for MP, and this will have much more of my time than GH3.

I'm hoping I can do better on drums than I could on guitar in GH...hopefully I can hold my own on hard.
See, for me, it's a huge deal. I love these games, but I'm not very good at all, so I'd be playing on Easy. And not too many people from here, I'd venture, would want to do that.

That really, really sucks. Was really looking forward to this game...but this is a deal-breaker for me.

Um..Won't Get Fooled Again is one of the all-time classic rock anthems. Certainly on the level with Freebird (except, you know, it's actually a good song).
Man, this MP only for World Tour thing REALLY has me annoyed. I just don't see a reason why it had to be more than one player.

I guess it's possible to do vocals and drums/guitar at once... Just a big letdown. I'll probably still get it, but I'm much, much less enthused than before.
Quote: I heard them say that they'll try to support *ALL* guitar peripherals. That, to me, means Les Paul and any other 3rd party guitars that will make it to the market. If the Les Paul is backwards compatible with GH2, then I would think that Harmonix wouldn't have to do anything special for it to work with RB. I mean, all the frets and everything should correlate to the same button presses on the XPlorer, so it should work right out of the box. At least that's my somewhat educated guess (or speculation).
It's not an unfair speculation to make, but I tend to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best (hence my keeping an XPlorer around).
My wife loves the Karaoke Revolution series, so the two of us will probably go through the World Tour mode on drums and vocals or guitar and vocals. I'm really excited for it.

I keep hoping for an announcement like Stairway to Heaven.

It was quoted in GH2. IN GH1, Freebird was quoted and it made it into GH2.

Of course, I should've phrased that better...there are a couple great rock anthems already announced, but I'm guessing they have a couple more up their sleeves yet.

You said it, not me! I didn't want to jinx it, but ANY quality Zeppelin track would make me giddy with excitement for this game. Maybe IV as a downloadable album.
IV would indeed be cool as a downloadable album.

Kashmir could also be a lot of fun to play. So many possibilities with this game.

I'll be playing everything on Expert eventually, but I'd imagine vocals on Easy won't bore me to tears as I'll still have to sing the whole song, just not hit the pitch and everything as closely as I would on Expert.
I swore I just saw this article in this thread, maybe it was somewhere else.

Led Zeppelin Is Going Digital Next Month

Could this be one of the previous obstacles to getting them in the game? Or completely irrelevant?
I thought Jimmy Page was highly reluctant to let Zep's music be used for anything. I remember that to get Immigrant Song for School of Rock, Jack Black made a video with him in front of thousands of fans begging Page and Plant to let the production use the song. In that case, they got it. Most people don't.
Wife's on board to do the World Tour mode.

Hell I'd do it with you if you suck - I do too. I can do good on medium, but after that I'm terrible.

I'm guessing each "band member" will be able to pick their difficulty like on GH?

Oh hell, if that's the case, then I've got nothing to worry about as well. I can do two bands - one with you guys and one with my wife. Which works, since she's going to bogart the drums in ours.

I'd bet the average player tops out on Medium or low tier Hard songs.
Guess I don't know many average players. I work at a gaming school and hang out with hardcore gamers all day. We've even got a Guitar Hero club. Pretty much everyone I know can hold their own on Expert.

Yeah I'm gonna out on a limb and guess that doesn't represent the general population.
