I did a search on the thread but didn't get any hits.

Is there going to be MP3 support in either version of the game? I would think it wouldn't be too difficult to have the game look at the typical music folders on the 360 or PS3 for a user radio channel. This was a big reason I played San Andreas on the PC instead of the PS2.

EDIT: Probably would have helped if I read this page LOL. I did my search on MP3. I don't have an iPod though.

I was more laughing at the idea of trash talking Catan. 8BB is organizing a tournament between us and another clan and the game of choice is Uno. Trash talking about Uno pre-competition really cracks me up too.

I'd happily play Carc. Catan i enjoy but online games take for-bloody-ever. After my first 2+ hour game of Catan online i refuse to play it with people again.

I couldnt find a B&M that was taking preorders for the special edition. Anyone know which website would ship the closest to the release date?

Amazon would be your best bet if you chose overnight or two-day shipping. Have you tried your local GameStop/EB Games?

Must've been supply issue. I just upgraded my regular edition pre-order to the SE at my local GameStop yesterday. They must have a set amount they expect to receive and don't exceed that number of pre-orders. Sucks man

No biggie. I ordered from Amazon with Prime shipping. As long as it gets here within a few days of the release date i'll be fine. I just dont want to be waiting a week or so.

I did the same thing. I hope it arrives when it's supposed to, the day after release day. I don't want to have to go out into the throngs of GTA fans at Best Buy.

Had to trawl through 4 and a half hours at work before I could take it home.
Of course, I'm not allowed to play online with it until release day, but I can make sweet sweet love to it in the mean time.

I don't know if you'll get banned for playing it. I had 5 guys on my friends list playing it on live last night.

Just for reference, there are already at least 676 people playing it online.

This may have been posted already but I got the new OXM in today and they have a large GTAIV review and gave it a 9.5.

Personally I pre-ordered this at GameStop for several reasons. 1. The ability to pay it off before hand, so I can walk in and out. 2. I don't wanna give Best Buy any of my money. 3. Midnight release (which I didn't know about beforehand).
Gamestop is doing midnight release?

This thread came up on a routine search for "anticipation", "release", and "explosion". Sadly, it does not deliver.

In case anyone wants a mini hands-on review, here goes. I spent about 7 hours playing it yesterday and it's actually pretty fun. I had no hopes for the game, as I pretty much hated San Andreas.

-GTA IV is almost a bit too realistic, so random crime sprees and driving from the cops is kind of hard to pull off.
-Using your cell phone to do everything is kind of cool, but it rings.. A LOT!
-The story is long and in depth, but I won't ruin anything for you guys.
-The graphics are very nice in the sunlight, but kind off poor at night, and in the cutscenes....weird. Lots of shimmering and blurry stuff in the near distance.
-Shopping is much better, as is eating. No more San Andreas micro managing.

Overall, i'd give it about an 8/10 so far. Im 25% done, but I'm not planning on going for the 100% craziness. I wish turning the cars around corners did not require coming to an almost complete stop like Gran Turismo though. Also, the missions are almost all "pick this up, drive there, maybe kill something, bring me home" over and over.

Thanks for the spoiler-free mini-review, discostu1337. What system are you playing the game on?
