I won a $50 gift certificate to Amazon last night, so I bit and pre-ordered the special edition today.
Question for you pre-ordering people (my first one!) - Do they ship it so you get it on release day? Or will I be waiting a week?

Sonofastu...I bought mine from Amazon as well and used the free shipping option. I expect to receive it a few days after the release date (which doesn't bother me but may bother those who HAVE to have it on release day).

Don't know if any one cares but it was reported on CAG that the free license plate from Amazon is "metal and full size like you would put on your car. It was a special package that the store got."

I was all set to take some time and really dive into this game. Now my wife picked the days right around release to take a trip. I didn't want to tell her that I would rather stay at home and play this because I had the release of Halo 3 cut our last vacation a bit short. I just made sure I helped plan the trip so I could do some stuff to take my mind off the fact that I won't be playing this game as soon as the rest of you.

With such a long single player game and a very promising multiplayer game, this will probably end up being the best bang for your gaming buck ever...at least for me.

If its like the others getting 100% involves finding secret packages and completing all the taxi, ambulance, fire truck, pizza delivery, police missions etc. So most likely it took him 45 hours to finish the story missions.

Good God I am so ready to play this game.
I just finished Bully on the 360 which was fun, but dammit I need to actually kill people!
I will be looking for the first spot I can find where I can snipe people yet the police can't get to me. That's always the best remedy for failing a mission.
