DamingR recommended Geometry Wars as a must buy game. I found the game boring and repetitive and wouldn't spend the points on it. I'm sure I have games I'd recommend that I love that he and others would state they hated.

 I will never understand the love for that game.

DigiTimes is reporting that the new 65nm GPUs (Xenos chips) are going to start manufacturing in May for a Fall release. http://www.digitimes.com/bits_chips/a20070430PB208.html

Is there any sort of confirmation on the actual 65nm CPUs (Xenon chips)?

Funny how this news starts to come out THE DAY AFTER the Elite hits.

I think the early accounts of 65nm CPU's have always been Fall/End of the Year. It just happened that when the Elite was announced people were hoping it would be sooner.

I could swear there was news directly from the chip manufacturer that they were producing it...

pinata242 04-30-07 10:14 AM

^ I hope so. I'd imagine the CPU and GPU would be released simultaneously. I've waited this long for a 360 - I can wait for this revision. I just hope it includes the HDMI port as well.

Wait, the Marvel pack is out?

Triple feature this week on the Live Arcade - www.videogametalk.com has the details. :-)

fumanstan 04-30-07 11:14 AM

I might check out Catan.... it's funny, just last week a friend of mine and his wife were talking about playing Settlers, and I remembered it from this thread.

Liver&Onions 04-30-07 11:22 AM

Oh i will be checking out Catan. I played it for the first time over easter with my family, it was a blast.

Flay 04-30-07 11:23 AM

Yep, I've talked to a few people like that: http://www.penny-arcade.com/images/2007/20070430.jpg

   Catan!

Oh yes! Settlers! Finally! Woooooooo!

How bad would Centipede suck in wide-screen? The game is a pillar-box ratio-game, so unless you play it sideways, you'd have to put up with some huge bars on the sides. And that's not even mentioning the lack of a track-ball, which is what makes Cenitpede fun in the first place.

timewaster 04-30-07 12:50 PM

my 360 froze on me once. I've had it for about 1 1/2 months now.
Is this something to worry about? or is it normal for it to freeze every now and then?

Don't most of the retro arcade games have the huge bars on the left and right sides already...they just make them colorful with logos and whatnot.

No track ball does seem odd though.

Yes, it's out. 800 pts. for all eight characters, or 500 for either the Hero or Villain packs.

Have had a great time so far with Hulk and Venom.

(Note that these same characters will be included with the upcoming Marvel UA Gold Edition.)

Yeah, but none of them have nearly as skinny or tall a ratio as Centipede or Millipede do.

Actually, most of the arcade games I've heard about on Live are of the same vertical orientation excluding TMNT.

I would kill to have Oregon Trail released on XBLA. :)

This proves Jack Thompson correct. We're monsters.
