When do you see the premium price dropping from $400?

KurrptSenate 04-02-07 01:46 PM

id say, as soon as they release the elite package, and they have sold out of the black units. I'd say a couple of months after that, they will make the elite package in grey, and possibly lower the premium once they make the new Elite the 'regular' premium, which would drop the price of the regular premium

fumanstan 04-02-07 02:10 PM

I'd say by this Holiday season.

pinata242 04-02-07 02:12 PM

As long as they are cheaper than the PS3 and the 360s are still selling satisfactorily, there won't be a drop. If the PS3 starts picking up steam, there may be a reduction by Microsoft.

I wouldn't expect it before Halo 3 no matter what.

Set, the Egyptian god of chaos, again threatens the Two Lands, and you must save Ancient Egypt from his terrible wrath in Luxor 2. Wielding the powers of Isis, battle your way across Egypt. Use your mystical winged scarab to shoot magical spheres and destroy encroaching colored spheres by making matches of three or more. Stop them all before they can reach the pyramids.

Unleash the powers of Isis by catching falling power-ups. Collect gems and jewelry for bonus points, or Golden Ankh coins to earn extra lives. Defeat Set in his temple stronghold or Egypt is doomed!

* Levels: Play through 88 explosive levels with 13 new bonus rounds.
* Difficulty: Choose from four levels of difficulty, including the mind-bending Challenge of Horus.
* Modes: Experience four awesome modes of play— Adventure, Practice, Survival, and Pharaoh's Challenge.
* Power-ups: Collect 13 exciting power-ups including the new Lightning Storm and Pharaoh's Dagger.
* Rankings: The player ranking system has 100 levels from Farm Hand to Pharaoh of the Two Lands.
Looks like Luxor 2 is the XBLA game for this week. I'm going to pass on it, as it looks like Zuma, but with your character in the bottom instead of the middle. I hope they keep up with quality titles through April, as I'd love to snag Settlers of Catan soon.

Michael Corvin 04-02-07 09:58 PM

I love Zuma so I'm definitely going to check this out. 800 seems a bit high though.

Many of you have probably seen this video which gives some info and shows what comes with the Elite but just in case...

If they don't include the transfer cable in the Elite, that's ridiculous...it's actually enough to make me not upgrade. I'll just buy the hard drive and be done with it.

KurrptSenate 04-03-07 10:50 AM

apparently the demo for Amored Core 4 is up in the marketplace

everyone needs to download it, realize its friggin bad arse, and buy it ASAP

:D

edstein 04-03-07 10:51 AM

The transfer cable will only come with the separate HD. All of your saved game info can moved with a memory card and the rest (patches, demos, movies, tv shows) can be downloaded again.

...assuming they weren't free downloads that are often limited-time things, right?

Well, on your recommendation, I added it to my rental queue. :)

The problem is apparently it is also tied to the CONSOLE. So they are working a way around that...which sounds like a big negative.

KurrptSenate 04-03-07 12:03 PM

awesome

i hope you enjoy at least half as much as I do

GatorDeb 04-03-07 12:03 PM

So I find out yesterday at my sister's house that there's an XBOX 360 there for the three teens. I get my hands on it for 10 minutes. 4-5 XBOX 360 games and what do I play? Zuma  Got me hooked, so I ordered Magnetica for the DS. Then my brother in law says that playing old games is boring (because I told him I would get a 360 for $200 in about 2-3 years, then I told him that with all that prowess available, Zuma was my game of choice (a demo at that).

Now if only I could find out the equivalent of Geometry Wars...

fujishig 04-03-07 01:02 PM

I thought there were a few game saves that could not be moved onto the memory card?

Microsoft Improves 360 Warranty (again):

If you are running Windows Vista, you can get the PC version of Geometry Wars .

A 5 day turnaround time is very good news. I have been procrastinating on sending in my system for various little problems because I didn't want to go without it for a month.

aktick 04-03-07 02:51 PM

I bought my 360 in November, and have been having disc reading problems, so finally called the other day to get it fixed...they're sending me a box of course, but how long has the turnaround been generally (before these new policies)?

And with the new policies, it seems it might make sense to send in your old one right at the end of your 1 year, to get an additional 90 day warranty?

Also, with the 1 year extension on any post-warranty repairs...how much have repairs typically cost?

Michael Corvin 04-03-07 02:54 PM

The first time took me about a month. This was at the height of the problem around May of last year.

The second time it took me 3 weeks to the day that I made the phone call. Sure they will turn around your system in 5 days once they get it, but the kicker is that it takes over a week for you to get that empty box.

I see...well luckily my 360 is still somewhat working, but if it was dead waiting for a box would get annoying.

KurrptSenate 04-03-07 03:06 PM

thankfully, im good friends with a game store manager, so I never had to go through that
