I guess I'm confused why the ability to only copy one 20gb hdd's data to the 120gb is a problem. Can someone explain why you'd need 2?

and for those playing at home:

titrate: to ascertain the quantity of a given constituent by adding a liquid reagent of known strength and measuring the volume necessary to convert the constituent to another form.

titrate: the frequency per unit of time (often per minute) one encounters breasts during a late night Showtime movie. See also: Women in prison movies.

When they first came out with the movie download service people complained that the HD wasn't big enough. Their response at the time was to buy two 20gig drives. Now the people who actually did that are screwed.

Can't you just redownload the movies on the 2nd drive? Use the transfer service for the one with the game save data and just repopulate the rest? The $100 you're out suuuuucks bad and Microsoft should own up to that "official" suggestion.

It was suggested by MS executives that people who needed more than 20 GB of storage should buy more HDs. Apparently, some people do that: keeping games on one and movies/TV on another. This screws them, unless you can re-download material to a new drive like I asked about earlier.

if im watching a chick flick/romance film, the titrate better be at least 2 in the first twenty minutes, or I'm gone

That's the question right now. If you can then it's not too big of a deal. Although redownloading multiple gigs if info would take a long time.

Isn't this something someone with two drives could test right now?

Yep. I sure as hell didn't pay $99 for a 2nd drive though.

I meant there was no way I was going to buy a 2nd one for what they were asking. I'm perfectly fine with the 20gigs I have now.

No, I couldn't get in on that deal either unfortunately.

Do you think they are going to make the HD-DVD drive in black now too? That would look pretty silly having them next to each other.

Per Game Spot, no plans for a black HD-DVD drive.

This whole Elite thing is going to go down as one of the most boneheaded moves in gaming this year.

So what there saying is if I buy the 120gb HD, my 20gb HD just becomes a $100 paper weight. This stinks! what if I wanted to use my 20gb HD as a backup.

Just sell your 20gig to one of the few people who bought the core system.

Well once you transfer the contents you could sell the 20gb, or if you keep it for a backup, you could only transfer saves that would fit on a memory card.

There was a black HD DVD drive already they were given to the development team, will they ever go retail? Microsoft says no, but when the first leaked Zephyr pictures surfaced MS said they had no intentions of doing HDMI either it was just a mock up.

Will the transfer cable be included with the Elite system itself, or just the seperate hard drives?

I only ask because the initial engadget link says it's the hard drive, but an article linked WITHIN that article says it's both.

Hopefully game saves that cannot be copied to a memory card can be transferred to the 120gig drive. I really don't want to have to unlock everything in DOA4 again.
