I asked about Duck Tales and Chip N Dale over on Capcom's board. They no longer have the rights to them so they are in lingo elsewhere.
|
Super G&G just has a steep learning curve to it. Climbing that plateau is rough at first, but once you make it to the top, the rest of the game is easy.
Granted, it took me a full week, but ya know |
I've played a few of the Ghouls and Ghosts/Ghosts and Goblins games lately and cannot believe I ever got close to the end on any of them. I have trouble beating the first levels now.
|
man, I'm thinking about selling all my Wii games except for about 3.....
|
I beat Super Ghouls and Ghosts once when I was in Jr. High.. and yes, the REAL way with the bracelet and all.
|
Does anyone know what is going on with Mario Party 8? I thought it was supposed to come out this week, but haven't heard any news. Has it been delayed?
|
I looked it up the other day and it is now listed for June on Amazon and some other places.
|
That sucks, I was hoping it was coming from TRU soon. Oh well, still will only have paid $27.38 for it if/when it comes. Haven't been charged yet, so no harm either.
|
Yep, it says 6/1 on EB and Gamestop's sites. That sucks. They have Metroid Prime 3 as 6/1 as well but I'm sure that'll be released later as well.

Ok.. I'm thinking of MAYBE getting a Wii (if I am ever able to find one)..
Now, let me list my reasoning and hopefully someone can push me one way or another... I currently own a 360 and play it almost every night (wife goes to bed at 10: and I get my game on till around 11:30 or so).. I would only be buying the Wii to hopefully have some gaming fun with her (and nephews but mainly her). She really has zero interest in games but for some reason I think the Wii may change that.. I don't want Zelda and other games like that and I would mainly be getting it for the interactive games so we can both play (Wii sports)? The question is and I know you don't know my wife so it's kinda hard to answer... Is it worth getting a Wii just for what I would want it for? Are there enough fun games like I described?? Thanks!! |
The Wii is a great choice for playing with the wife. I'm actually fairly underwhelmed with it overall, but it is so good for multiplayer fun with games like Wii Sports and Wii Play that it makes up for the rest of the software that is pretty mediocre IMO.
We rented Sonic last night and after an hour went back to playing Wii Sports. |

I *think* Cooking Mama may have that bit of competitive fun you're looking for. It's cute and centers around something all women love doing <s>for</s> with their man!
|
i liked cooking mama for the DS, but it lost its appeal faster than any DS game I can remember that I actually liked

Rayman is a blast. Fun for anyone. I actually haven't tried out many games with my wife. She did give Excite Truck a go and enjoyed that. Said she wouldn't mind playing that again.

I've had my Wii for about 2 weeks now and have just been loving it! I would say that it would be a good purchase to play some video games with your wife. Even my mom and dad, two people who have zero interest in video games, loved playing Wii Sports. In fact, I think my mom might want to buy a Wii just for that. I haven't bought any games, though. All I have is the Wii Sports, but by the nature of games like that, it has so much replay potential. Bowling is all about the score, golf is about the course and with tennis it keeps a record of your play on the chosen Mii so that you pretty much always go up against a team that will give you run. And the multiplayer is the best part of the Wii. My friends and I have a blast every time we fire it up.
Well, obviously you guys can tell that I've only really been playing Wii Sports (and a good amount of time making Miis as well). But I am proud to say that I have attained pro status in tennis. I flirt with pro status in bowling. I bowl a few really good games and reach pro status, and then I bowl a few subpar games and get knocked back down. I think that after a few bowling games in a row, my arm starts to get a little tired and I lose a little bit of the steam on my rolls. Am I the only one who has this problem? |
I'm at the pro level in bowling, but fatigue plays a part definitely. That is what makes the game so great. If I bowled 300 every time I would get bored quickly. They really struck a good balance on the bowling game. Its fun and challenging without being frustrating. It is the prototype Wii game.

^^^ Yeah, I would completely agree with that. And that is one of the things that I love about the Wii -- it's totally possible to just be having an "off" day, where your usual swing just isn't quite there, maybe more hook than usual or not as much.
And partly because of that, I feel like I continue to learn more and more about how to play, not just from playing the game myself but more so from watching other people play. You can pick up little tricks and things that way because every person who picks up a Wii controller has their own distinct style of play. It's just not the same when you have a regular controller and a series of buttons to push, which isn't to say that the traditional gaming experience isn't still enjoyable. Oh, and would you mind if I added you, darkside? |

I'm scared of my Wii console now because whenever I fire up Wii Sports, intending to play about half an hour, I invariably wind up playing about 3-4 hours into the wii hours of the night, or until I just get tuckered out.

Looks awesome. Can't wait. I've never played any of the previous ones though. Maybe I'll pick up 1000 year door for cheap first.
