Dungeon Runners (MMO Diablo clone)- Invite thread...

NCSoft has a Diablo style MMO called "Dungeon Runners". They currently only allow people to join through invites. Each person gets 4 invites to give to other people.

You can read more about the game here:
http://www.dungeonrunners.com/

The "basic" version is free to play. However, if you want access to the best equipment (which they are sure to tease you with constantly), better potions, a bank slot, and queue priority, you need to pay $5 a month.

I find it is a pretty good diversion from Vanguard when I just feel like going and killing some stuff and getting some cool loot. The game has a good amount of humor including some funny names for items.

If anyone wants to group in game, you can find me under the name "Lucarian".

Right now I have 2 invites, that I can give to whoever leaves their email addresses first. Then, once those people join they will get 4 invites, and so on.

See... $5 a month is a lot better then 12-15 a month for most MMO games.

Just don't expect too much out of it. It is quite simply only a dungeon crawl. There are quests however.

Seems that these 2 invites didn't bug out like the other 2 I sent. So I have 2 more invites as well. As soon as the invitee activates their account you get another invite.

Not really, the game is simple enough. If you have ever played Diablo or even Guild Wars, you know more than enough on how to play.

A couple quick tips I thought of. When you are buying/selling at a vendor, you can shift click to quick sell/buy. Also pressing the 'Z' key will toggle on/off the showing of labels on items laying on the ground.

Installed it at work yesterday, got a little playing in before I left. An OK game, but what I saw so far isn't enough to make me want to pay a monthly fee. Not when there's Diablo, Titan Quest and so many other similar games around.

Got home and downloaded the exe again and installed it, and it won't run on my computer. After I log in, I'm left looking at a generic dungeon screen that won't take me to my character screen. After 5 minutes of waiting I alt-tabbed and shut the game down.

Yeah, there are definitely some better alternatives around. However, I figure I'll pay the monthly fee once, get a months worth of gameplay out of it and then cancel. Not a bad deal for $5.

They are also doing a fairly major content patch this coming week (hopefully). They are completely reworking enemy AI, adding 50+ new quests and some other things as well. They are also going to be completely removing classes soon and going with a class-less system. I don't think that will be in this coming patch however. As it is now I believe any class can buy any spell/skill, you just get a few bonuses for selecting a specific class.

Yeah, it sucks. It might change eventually. Now what they tell you to do is to invite yourself with another email address. Of course if you are paying monthly, this doesn't really help.

Since all classes can get all skills, it doesn't really matter though. The only difference between classes is your starting "traits", and classes will be removed in a month or so.

There's also an option to add another account for yourself on the account management page. Still, it's a little weird.

I'm thinking of it terms of having a character I play with my wife, and a character I play by myself. Also, even with a classless system it would be fun to experiment with different builds.
