Fast forward to Spring 06, the *new* launch date. Those games that were in the works for the original '05 launch should be nearing completion or all but done by that point, and more titles being in the works. Fast forward to Nov. 06, the actual launch date. Fully polished games should have been abundant at launch, what with the extra year and all. Not to mention a slew of other games should have been in the works at that point. So in reality they should have had Gears worthy material at launch having a year extra to work on those games. That's why I also call bullshit on that typical argument that you can't compare first year 360 titles to launch PS3 titles. Same goes for their online service. All reps and execs say is that MS had a year headstart. Well what the fuck did Sony do during that year that they couldn't even put out something comparable at launch? Nevermind the 3+ year development time of the system that they could have been working on the PSN. What the fuck were they doing all that time? So I don't see it so much as Microsoft having a year headstart as much as I see Sony and developers squandering away a year that could have yielded a stronger launch and a decent library of releases during the first few months. So anytime I see the "MS had a head start" I have to laugh because that has to be the lamest excuse known to <s>man</s> gamers. It's nothing but an excuse. Sometimes you have to call a spade a spade. |
Good points.

If anyone cares, there is an mp3 of the "Red Ring of Fire" song without the lame video. The video was apparently added by some random kid, noticeable by the atrocious spelling in the video.
Red Ring of Fire mp3 There is also another PS3 song on that site: No Fricking Games song And finally a parody of the MS Surface trailer: MS Surface trailer Surface is that new computer table MS just recently unveiled. |
Just saw this on GoNintendo. I have no idea where it came from or how old it is, but it made me smile.

That was pretty funny. Both of the spoofs were pretty good actually.

I personally don't mind paying for Live. I see some people have issues with it...but I certainly don't. $50 for a year of the best online gaming? (let's not get into the PC-console wars here...) Word. |
