one tip that is missing is - pull the goalie. Play 2 players and right after the face off - pause and pull the opposing goalie .. Makes it simple to score under 1 min no matter what game speed. This also helps with some of the other achievements. I still need to do the penalty shot one as well.

Im so pissed. I assumed that my registration for the challenge took, so I proceeded to get 1000 points in NBA 2k6. I checked this morning to find out that I needed to click on a few more links to actually register! Now Im scrambling to find NHL 2k6 or College Hoops 2K6 to make up for lost time. I don't even know why I care, it's 200 freakin' MS points. Who cares?!

I wasted 545 Madden points this way. I'd be done otherwise.

easiest way I found to create easy breakaway chances was:

a) increase all penalties to max
b) play two player
c) with controller 1, take some penalties for your team
d) pick up controller 2 and take control of the other team's defenseman and move the puck just inside the blue line and leave him there that will bring the entire team into the offensive end as they are setting up their powerplay
e) go back to controller 1 and poke check (Y button) the puck away from the defenseman and off you go on a breakaway. Skate just slow enough to where they catch you at the other end and get the penalty

Stupid question about achievements: Once an achievement is unlocked and you get the little notification on the bottom of the screen, it's yours to keep, right??? You don't need to save your game, do you?

Because I played a shitty round of Madden 2006, simmed for a full season, won the Super Bowl and got all of the achievement notifications (aside from complete 30 years of franchise). I should be plus 600 for achievement points, but my gamertag isn't updating with the info nor is the reward website. WTF?

Nope, it's saved to your gamertag as soon as you unlock it. If it's not reflected when you look it up online, it could be a few things. First of all, were you connected to Live when you got the achievements? If not, next time you use the 360, connect to Live and it should upload the new achievements. If you were connected when you got 'em, then try logging out of the rewards site and logging back in and see if it updates.

I picked up "Cars" to get the last portion of the points I need - since it is classified as "simple".

Maybe it is just me, but I'm having a hell of a time completing the damn tractor tipping levels .. lol

The reward website is slow in updating. I had finished King Kong and gotten the last 700 points of the game. The rewards site didn't update for 4 hours to reflect that I had those 700 points gained.

I was trying this with 07, hehehe.

It was fun, though, even if I don't play Madden too much.

Yeah being logged in all the time while playing the 360 is the one thing that kinda weirded me out when I first got the 360. For the first few days I would log out when playing single player and log in for LIVE. Then I thought the only way points would register was if you played while logged in but apparently that's not the case.

They register (in general) either way. The only difference being that you get a date stamp when you are logged in. If you aren't logged in it will only say 'acquired' under the achievement.

I would assume you need to be logged in for the contest, so they can tell when you attained your achievements.

The wife and I are tag-teaming Cars tonight to try to get that 1000. I've got 125 going into that, and I figure I can get the remaining 375 between Paperboy/other Arcade games/Godfather pretty easily.

Anyone have/rent NBA Live 06 and want to work together to get the "Win 1 Online Game" achievement? I already have my 1500 points and finished the challenge at level 3, but I figure I might as well get the entire 1000/1000 from NBA Live while I have it rented...

I completed the challenge this morning thanks to College Hoops 2k6 and Madden 2007. I won at level 2.

I wonder how difficult the next challenge will be? Since most of us used up the "easy" achievement games, it's gonna be really hard to get 1500 points.

Finished Cars...currently sitting at 1170 points. I've got Cabela's Alaskan Adventure (wife), Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and The Godfather. I figure I need to get these 330 points by tomorrow night at the latest.
