Stuck in the Old Ways
So we were in Target the other night... lo and behold they had PS3 and Wii on the shelf!!! And not just one with a bunch of people clamoring, but many, with nobody visibly asking for them. I, however, am on a budget, and can't afford either right now... the only one I want is the Wii. My fiance was telling me that I could sell my old systems and get the Wii if I really wanted it... but I can't bring myself to sell my PS2 again, and the Cube without any games or controllers would only net me what? $50, $60 max? Not really enough to offset the cost of the Wii. I guess I'm not here to whine or complain. It truly is my choice to get the Wii or not, and when I realize that, though I play them now and again, I really don't play much anymore, and that coupled with the fact that I am getting married soon, with full intentions of paying off my debt and owning a home (thus gaining new debt) before that time... it would really be detrimental to spend money on something as frivolous as a game system. I guess I'm finally growing up.
I can't say that I am not dissappointed that I won't be getting the Wii, but in the end, I think I am making the right choice.

Honestly, you're not missing much right now. You can play Zelda on the Cube and that's the only Wii game I've found worth bothering with thus far.
DS and PS2 (and a little bit of PC gaming) has been getting all my action since finishing Zelda in December.
Will be breaking out the Wii soon though....but to play a GC game (Resident Evil 4).
Better off just waiting until you finances are better and their are more good games out for the Wii (and maybe a price drop).

yea, just as josh said
I really don't play my Wii ever, unless I have a friend over that wants to play (maybe once a week if that)
I might play gears of war for a bit every other day, but it might not warrant the expense, for you anyway

Already letting the fiance tell you what to do? You're not married yet!
Saving a few bucks by selling off your game systems is not going to amount to anything in the long run. And you may find yourself spending more later to get them back.
I'd say as long as you're happy still playing the systems you already own, keep 'em and don't buy a new one, especially if you find yourself overall not playing as much anymore. Maybe you should just look to rent or buy more games for the systems you already have, which also makes sense because they're going to cost less than games for the newer systems.

A Cube w/ no controllers will net you about $30, just figured I'd throw that out there

Good for you not giving in. I see a great future for you ahead.
Besides, my money is on a price drop before next christmas.

Yeah, between Zelda, Warioware, Rayman, Trauma Center, the VC, and now Wii Play, I play the Wii quite a bit. That isn't to say you have to have one right this second, but it's still very cool.

So my fiance got a $250 gift card for Target from her work and she went there yesterday to get the Wii for me for V-Day but they were out. She told me we could still get one, but I told her that it wasn't necessary and we should get something for when we get our new house. It was still awesome that she thought of me and wanted to get the Wii for me.
