360 racing wheel questions

I have a couple questions about the racing wheel... I want to buy it, but I'm wondering what the best setup is? For people who own it, how do you have it set up?

Can you sit on a couch with it? Need a desk for it?

Basically, I really want to buy it, but I'm not sure how it'll work out for me. I usually sit on the floor or on my couch playing 360. I don't have a desk nearby, but do have a coffee table.

A previous racing wheel I had (for PC) required a desk for optimal play, just wondering if people have success with the 360 wheel without using a desk.

thanks!

The best way I could find to use it was on my lap. I tried using it by securing it to a table, but I find it on, plus it made the petals awkward to reach (with my set up anyway).

It's not comfortable on your lap unless you have T-rex arms. You really need something with a nice overhang to pull up to you that is wide enough to get your legs under comfortably.

The wheel is excellent, though. Maybe not as good as the Logitech GT wheels, but I don't think PGR3 is the best test for the wheel - we'll find out for sure when Forza 2 comes.

Well, I saw it was on sale for $112.49 at Tower.com tonight and went ahead and bought it. Hopefully it'll work out okay on my coffee table...
