I seem to get this at random times on just about any game I own. All of my discs are in new perfect condition.

Should I act now and call Xbox support to get a new 360, because I am wondering if this will eventually lead to the red rings of death?

Anyone else get the dirty disc errors occasionally?

I've been getting these from time to time as well. Sometimes, the drive will even think a game is a DVD and it'll say "Play DVD" instead of "Play Game".

I'm probably going to take it back to GameStop next week to swap it out with a new one, however, I'm afraid the new one might have the same problems and I'll then have to send back to MS.

I've heard that a faulty drive is usually the culprit on this issue.

I got the 360 in December and constantly have this error too. I'm waiting for it to be replaced by Dell (stupid backorders), I'd recommend you do the same considering how much it costs.

I'm having this happen every few hours as well, on a new box that I got in November... maybe I should call xbox service...damn it.
