think of it like this:
the body is in a perfect state of balance. the "particles" in your blood are roughly equal to the "particles" in your cells (including your brain). if the blood gets so diluted by the water, the relative number or "particles" in the blood is less than in the cells. the body wants to get back in balance. the "particles" cannot pass through the cell membrane out into the bloodstream to balance, but the water CAN pass through the cell membrane into the cell. water passes into the brain cells, they swell and burst, you die.
decker is saying pedialyte would be better, because it has some "particles" in it, which would dilute the blood to a lesser degree.
