Lego Star Wars 2 - I know it's a kids game but...
Man, I've gotten incredibly frustrated and had to go online to figure out how to get past some levels. First, the Hoth Battle, I figured out you need to hook up with the bombs and roll them, and roll them I did, into the gate about a gazillion times. Which did nothing. Apparently, I have to steer the bombs into rocks. And then Death Star Escape I'm stuck after escaping from the trash compactor. I'm supposed to drive the small cart over the flashing lights very quickly?
I wasn't expecting such a tricky game. Anyone else care to share if they had trouble with kids game?

I'm stuck at that point in the Death Star as well. That damned car is impossible to control. I don't even know if that's the right thing to do to begin with. There is a catwalk along that back wall that I can't figure out how to extend as well to get to the control panel near the second level....ARRRRGGGHHHH!

Nope, no problems. The only thing I had issues with was the wonky camera.

I have minimal experience with this, but I was playing it with my 6yr old son and couldn't figure out how to get across the raised platform at the back of the room in Jabba's Palace. Anyone have any insight into that?
My son kept hopping onto the back of the B'Omarr Monk thinking he had to ride the thing somehow to make it work . . .

I'm glad a new thread popped up, I just started playing this with the wife. I will say that for a "kids" game, there are some INCREDIBLY frustrating parts, especially with the DAMN HELMETS. I just finished the Death Star level from IV, and almost broke my controller when I needed to get Leia a Stormtrooper helmet to free up the Millennium Falcon. I had to go back through the level at least 5 times to try to get her to the last room with the helmet on, is there any way to pick up helmets from the stormtroopers you kill? I know they leave them behind when you shoot them, but I tried hitting everything and couldn't put one on.

Yeah, the game has some "puzzles" that are WAY too hard.
I think 90% of the difficulty of the game comes from bad camera angles and illogical puzzles. If I bought this for a child, I would be really pissed. It's way too hard for kids without some kind of strategy guide or walkthrough. When I play it now, I just get out my laptop and open up gamefaqs automatically.

Am I the only one that didn't have any troubles with the game, other than getting the second Death Star achievement?
I thought it was fun, but easy.

IMO it's not too hard. My six year you and I, beat the story mode without too much trouble. Yeah there were some levels that took a little bit to figure out, but any easier and I wouldn't like it nearly as much as I do. I very happy to have this game in my library. Not to mention that the free play mode will extend gameplay for months!

When I hit a roadblock I go to gamefaqs.com.
As for this being a kid's game... maybe so, but I enjoyed playing it with my six year old son. We completed 100 percent of the game after about 38 hours of gameplay. No idea if this is good or bad, but I do know it was fun.

It's a game appropriate for kids. That doesn't make it a kids game. Unless Katamari Damacy and New Super Mario Bros. and Zelda are "kids" games.
Star Wars is very easy. It's just very frustrating.

I don't know if I'd call it a "kids" game... but I know I loved it and my 8-year old did too. It's got such a nice clean look... the animations are fun, and the game play is too. I think we ended up completing 88 percent of the unlockables through free play, but now we just picked up the first game which ports ok to the 360 and have started playing that!
And yes, driving the carts over the panels gets frustrating. I've found the easiest way is to get as far back from it as you can, and then slowly move up to the edge of the panels... making sure you're lined up straight. Then hit the stick up (or left, or right, depenind on your direction) and you'll usually do it.

I can't imagine that you'd actually need a strategy guide for this game. It's just not that difficult. I dunno...maybe I AM the only one that felt that way.
You can't pick one off a dead enemy. I would just put helmets on as many people in my party as possible, and try to keep at least one of them from getting hit.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was a kids game. Oh well. Anyway, good to see that I wasn't the only one having trouble with it. I did finally beat A New Hope and went onto The Empire Strikes Back. I figured out how to beat the Hoth Battle level but it probably amounted to the least enjoyable experience I ever had playing on the 360. It was just dumb and hard. Perhaps I was too used to the Rogue Squadron games that were incredible. I skipped ahead to Return of the Jedi which is a lot of fun so far.

Well I finally decided to pop this back in to finish it this past week. Before that my last achievement was gained back in October.
Finally hit 1000 yesterday though. It was quite a bit of work for what appears to be a simple game.
I had zero problems getting through the story mode. Finding all the mini-kits, blocks and getting the "undefeated" achievements is where the challenge came in. If anyone is still playing or has a desire to get everything read on for some tips.
Undefeated & finding Mini-kits/Blocks - Purchase a "ghost of" character, Obi-wan or Anakin. It costs a million so save up. That way you can wander the levels with ease searching every nook and cranny to find everything without worrying about dying. This will also make getting most of the "Undefeated" Achievements a snap. You will still have to use other characters, but you can use your "ghost" to clear a room before advancing to your task.
Undefeated Flying levels - best advice I can give is purchase the TIE Intercepter. It is fast and maneuvers great and fires the most bullets the fastest. Barrel roll often to dodge ships and enemy fire. Of course this won't help you with Hoth or Endor, but the rest seemed much easier once I purchased the Intercepter.
Hoth - This one is actually easier than it appears. I saved it until last because I thought it would be more difficult, but shooting the probe droids nets you a heart nearly every time. In the final fight, just take out all the probe droids and AT-STs before tackling the AT-ATs and you are home free. Only took three tries.
Death Star II - Star Destroyers are a cinch, use the TIE for the entire level until you get to the core, switch to the Falcon and hold down the fire button and fly in circles. The Falcon fires in all directions which makes this area a snap. As for escaping, I tried the Falcon & the TIE numerous times and just couldn't make it, I kept getting caught up in the flames. Tried out Slave I and made it out on the first try. Probably spent an hour figuring out this one.
Anyway, off to check it off my "pile of shame."
